Question

Hello, Parrhesiast. Do you have any connection with SuperFriendlyEditor, an editor who was recently blocked indefinitely? I see that you have recently edited the Sigmund Freud article, expanding its lead. SuperFriendlyEditor expressed an interest in the lead of that article before being blocked (the comment is visible here). FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 03:04, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I don't know what you're asking. I am new here, and I am the Parhhesiast. Greetings.

Please see WP:SOCK. I think you are the same user as SuperFriendlyEditor, and that you know exactly what I'm asking you. Aside from the fact that your edits are consistent with interests SuperFriendlyEditor expressed just before being blocked, your use of lengthy, bombastic edit summaries indicates that you are likely the same person (per WP:DUCK). Besides that, your recent comments about the Martin Heidegger article at User:Rothorpe's talk page (especially, "I have tried to salvage some of the lead that was attempted to replace it, while cutting it down in length") pretty much establishes you are the same user as SuperFriendlyEditor. I am neither sock, nor duck, but Parrhesiast, an ancient Grek word meaning "fearless and free speaker of truth, a truth-teller up to the risk of death." Good evening, my fellow lover of truth.Parrhesiast (talk) 03:27, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

You are an obvious sockpuppet of SuperFriendlyEditor (Rothorpe seems to think so as well). I will start collecting the evidence I need to start an SPI soon, assuming that someone doesn't block you before I get around to doing it. FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 03:29, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am no "puppet" but a bold and fearless teller of truth. Besides, any noble free speaking, truth-telling Parrhesiastes would have thought those two leads were problematic.Parrhesiast (talk) 03:33, 7 September 2015 (UTC

And how far down this rabbit-hole do you wish to go, my friend? What, pray tell, would you do if you were to find out that not only am I a mere servant of that great human being SuperFriendlyEditor, but SuperFriendlyEditor himself was but the mere servant of an even greater, more noble individual, the inimitable KingShowman? What, then, my friend? Fearlessly speaking the truth to Power up to the point of Death, the Parrhesiast signs out.Parrhesiast (talk) 03:46, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Verily, do you not call me Parrhesiastes now, now that I have taken the hemlock in service of Truth? To all my loyal readers and beloved friends at Wikipedia, I bid you a final farewell and adieu. We owe a cock to Ascelipus, CrIto. Do not forget. Parrhesiast (talk) 04:11, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

You refer to "KingShowman". There actually is no user account with that exact name. I assume you are referring to Kingshowman, an account that was blocked some time ago. I'm not particularly interested in which account you used first; the important point is that your comments are a de facto admission of sock-puppetry. You are simply not behaving the way an innocent user would behave if he or she were mistakenly accused of using socks; the whole thing seems to be a game to you. Do not forget the cock, my dear Crito! What kind of a citizen would I be if I grew up under the protection of the Laws of Noble Athens, and then when she condemns me for corruption of the youth, I tried to evade my punishment? Do not try to convince me any longer to escape. I shall hear none of it. I shall drink the hemlock as you fine noble Athenians insist. But do not forget the cock, my dear Crito!Parrhesiast (talk) 04:40, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
