I'd be really grateful if you could lend a hand with Croatian Apoxyomenos - the article is nominated for DYK, but apparently a "light copyedit" from a native speaker is needed. Bradsby

I've corrected about a half a dozen refs on the Scranton Strike article that you've made to a ref named bradby. I have been correcting them to "bradsby", but you seem to have undone one of those corrections. If this is an error and you indeed mean to ref an author named bradby, please add and name the correct ref. Otherwise please take care to cite the correct ref name.

There is currently one broken ref name on the article (see the error message on the reference section). I will correct in the morning assuming it is intended to reference bradsby (with an s), unless you otherwise indicate that there is another reference attributed to a bradby (without an s) that hasn't yet been added.

Pittsburgh Railway Riots

I have been working on building a skeleton for the 1877 events in Pittsburgh based on McCabe. If you find yourself in need of a project, pop on over and spend some time there. It is turning out to be a much larger project than Scranton. I'm almost at 10k bytes and I'm not yet done with a single source, where Scranton ended up at 44k bytes with 41 sources. Thanks, I had checked on the article and noticed that. So tiring. It was good to work on Pittsburgh and really interesting to see some of those early accounts. So many different perspectives on what was going on. I came across more info that said the union guys kept some trains running on the other side of the river in Allegheny City (now North Side). Since the Great Migration is usually seen as an early 20th century thing, this seems wrong. That is why the original wording was "paved the way". 1967 Milwaukee riot

Russian whaling in Alaska

On the Juneau, Alaska page you stated that the Russians were conducting "extensive whaling" with Alaskan Eskimos. What whaling was that exactly? I know they did some whaling in the Gulf of Alaska, but I wasn't aware of any to the north. They primarily caught whales in the Sea of Okhotsk and Sea of Japan. Thank you for your notes; will have to recheck. They had a fur trading post at Kodiak by 1800. and other posts and missions in the Aleutian Islands.

I'm fairly familiar with the history of whaling in the Arctic Ocean, having read some of John Bockstoce's writings on it along with other sources. Without researching it, I still feel confident in saying that the Russians didn't whale off the Arctic Alaskan coast. That was New England whaling territory. However I thought there might have been a whaling station on Wrangel Island, off the NE Siberian coast. The Wikipedia article on the island doesn't confirm that. I recall there was an expedition party that was shipwrecked there, most surviving a long time and eventually being rescued. I think an Inupiat woman from Nome, a cook for the party, had the skills they needed for subsistence survival. Also, I noticed that your edit on the Reeves County item on GEO's page is partly redundant, in the lede and below. I'll leave it to your discretion to edit it. Thanks for your tenacity. Where did you hear about a whaling station on Wrangel Island? I've never heard of one there and doubt anyone would build one in such a hard to get to location. As for the Juneau article, I was giving him time to remove the claim in question as the Russians - as you stated above - didn't do any whaling there at that date. I only know of Otto Lindholm sending a few whaling and trading expeditions to the Bering Sea in the 1880s, but I don't recall if they passed through the Bering Strait or not. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
