I don't think i've ever heard of Spider Webb and the Insects. Could you add a reference to this? Izzy007 21:03, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't know that. I have changed the link on Del-Fi Records to go to Tom Fogerty. Izzy007 00:13, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have nominated this article for deletion. Ground Zero | t 00:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have no doubt that your intentions were good. It's just that not everyone gets to have an article in an encyclopedia, you know? That's what MySpace is for. (I don't have an article here either, because I'm not that notable) It just doesn't sound like he's done anything big. As you can see from the deletion discussion, most other people agree with me on this. Feel free to make your case there for why this article should be kept. That's why I let ou know about the deletion nomination -- so you could participate in the discussion. Don't take the nomination personally. As you said, you're new here. It takes a while to get to know how things work. Sorry. Ground Zero | t 03:03, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tom Fogerty Sidekicks.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tom Fogerty Sidekicks.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:23, 26 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of "Bruno Covington"

A page you created, Bruno Covington, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is very short and provides little or no context.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

License tagging for Image:Yopara.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Yopara.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 04:07, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Tom Fogerty Zephyr.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tom Fogerty Zephyr.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:42, 16 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 20:42, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rock music WikiProject

edit

I'd like to invite you to join the newly-formed Rock music WikiProject. There's alot of Rock-related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help us get this project off the ground and a few Rock music pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks! --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 09:13, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

edit

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

  • Betraying a couple of people
  • Redirected his userpage to Autofellatio

You noticed something?

I wanted to make a page about WhatPort 80, the successor to Encyclopedia Dramatica. I wanted to write it because on my comment (click the link), I commented that ED has this notice up about it being closed soon. Tell me if you have time to give me a go-ahead on the project, OK? And maybe we can help on creating it. Thanks. Joe9320 of the CUWP | Contact the Council 23:37, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

WhatPort80 isn't Encyclopedia Dramatica's successor. WhatPort80 isn't going to replace ED. It's quite the contrary actually; WhatPort80 is there to save ED. Ed has a extremely poor reputation (obviously), so advertisers don't wish to associate themselves with ED. For years now, ED has been losing money. As a result, a Safe-for-Work (SFW) version of Ed was created in order to build a more friendly reputation, so that it can attract better advertisers; this new SFW wiki is WhatPort80. WhatPort80 is there to generate money in order to run ED. --Michaeldsuarez (talk) 00:46, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
