Revert of units used in SS France article?

Hey, I saw you reverted my change of units back to kg-f/cm2 from bar.

Might I ask why? kg-f/cm2 squared is a bit of an historical unit, no longer in popular use. Rmvandijk (talk) 16:07, 9 January 2015 (UTC) Was a rollback error, was reverted within 1 minute. --palmiped |  Talk  16:22, 9 January 2015 (UTC) Sorry, my browser didn't refresh, apparently I have crappy internet Rmvandijk (talk) 23:05, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Ikeston

Hi! I added it to Ikeston because the street address said "Ikeston" in it; even though Morely is not in Ikeston, people may mistakenly think it is in Ikeston. WhisperToMe (talk) 13:18, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Hello

Thank you for helping, (but is not allowed to cite other wikipedia pages) do you want to help me to improve / create other pages on wikipedia ? Are you just interested in English football or also European ?Alexiulian25 (talk) 15:44, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

It can`t be 5 seconds, if you time the moment when they kick off till the goal is scored is 11-12 seconds, to score a goal in 5 seconds you need to kick the ball to the goal from the beginning...I think we should let Ian Bogie with 12 seconds.Alexiulian25 (talk) 16:06, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Can you help by creating a page for Barrie Jones, an older player of Notts County. Not the welsh player. Thank you.Alexiulian25 (talk) 16:09, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

RMS Queen Mary 2

Hello, there were some edits to the main article for RMS Queen Mary 2 regarding her home port. Her official home port as been Hamilton, Bermuda since November 2011 when the ship was re-flagged from GB to Bermuda. She still flies the undefaced Red Ensign as do all merchant ships flagged for British Overseas Territories. Blue Riband► 03:36, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

Trains Portal and Railways Portal Merger Proposal

You seem to be well acquainted with rail transport material, so I'd like your input on this proposal I made here: Portal talk:Railways#Trains Portal and Railways Portal Merger Proposal. Jackdude101 (Talk) 19:29, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

SS Cantabria

Hi Palmiped
I to have noted the entry in the book `The Ship-wrecks off North Norfolk` but after research carried out I am not certain that the information in that book is correct. It certainly conflicts with the information available on the Times online archive. In the Henry Blogg Museum at Cromer they have a copy of the book that was written by Captain Argüelles and his family. This also contradicts the information in that Book. To be fair the book was written more for the information for local divers and rather than a definitive reference to the many ship-wrecks of the coast here. There is also conflicting evidence as to the ownership of the SS Cantabria. In the WebPages of the Parliamentary questions raised at the time in the house of Lords, there is mention that the captain and his crew had initially stolen the ship from its rightful owner, A Zubizarreta Times Online Archive, Letter to the Editor dated 5 November 1938.This also conflicts with other information in the book. I have been unable to determine the sources for that book but have come to the conclusion that the information may be wrong.  stavros1  ♣  14:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

weasel word

Please tell me what was the weasel word in the Queen Mary article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arydberg (talkcontribs) 15:53, 20 February 2017 (UTC) The reason i put up the edit was from another site on a radio listening post that communicated with the Queen Mary and most probably saved her from being sunk. Pleas answer my query.

Pembroke Coast Express

Hi Palmiped, I removed the clear tag from the above article. It doesn't look right having a huge space in the middle of the article, with not content, and i'm sure it breaks layout rules. scope_creep (talk) 22:07, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

There has got to be something better? scope_creep (talk) 22:30, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi Scope creep, I think center in place of left would work, what do you think? --palmiped |  Talk  22:37, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Robert Jackson (educator)

Hi, I see you have removed «Bob» both from the infobox and the first phrase in the article. I tried to look in other articles to find the best way of including a much used nickname. This was one of them. How do you suggest that we include the nickname? Not at all? It is included in some official presentations of him, for instance here: WRERU presentation, so I feel it should be included in the article. Kjersti Lie (talk) 18:35, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

  • Hi, this may help [1] personally I prefer “Bob”, maybe though just rename the article to Robert “Bob” Jackson (educator) and leave it at that. Regards --palmiped |  Talk  19:17, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Hm … I have his e-mail address. I will write and ask him how much his nickname is in use, and if your suggestion is the best. Thanks for your suggestions. I am not sure what you mean by "I prefer "Bob"? Kjersti Lie (talk) 15:23, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
I personally prefer “Bob” to «Bob» --palmiped |  Talk  15:45, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
Aha! :D Kjersti Lie (talk) 11:49, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
I added Bob again, with the right kind of brackets, and a reference. Kjersti Lie (talk) 11:30, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Ilkeston Town

Hi - Sorry, only just seen your message (not sure if I'm responding in the correct way!). Generally when laid out like in a table like that one it'll be the team in question's score first, that's how I've always seen it elsewhere and there are plenty of examples around. If laid out in an 'Ilkeston 2-1 Stafford' type format then the home team's name would indeed be listed first. In the interests of clarity I could put a 'W', 'D', or 'L' next to the scoreline just in case but I think most would understand it, particularly given the scorer information follows anyway.
