Hi, Paleocolour. I noticed you recently created a scale diagram for Lehansaurus, I'd appreciate it if could you tell me where you got the reference/s for the silhouette? Yeah, unfortunately that's a very common problem when trying to find info on a specimen for wikipedia articles, restorations, size charts, etc. I did find some photos of the fossil skull and of a skeletal mount on pinterest. But the image includes little bone material and the skeletal mount looks nothing like an Afrovenatorine. As such, can I base my reconstruction on your silhouette then? GAN Oxalaia Reconstruction

Hi, again. I've been seeing your contributions for some time and I'm very impressed with the coloring work on the restorations you've submitted to Wikipedia, such as those you've colored from artists on DA. So I was thinking, I'm currently working on a revised restoration of Oxalaia since my old one is rather flawed, as FunkMonk pointed out on the GA review for the article I nominated. The new drawing will be done with pencil entirely, so I was wondering if you could do the coloring on my lineart? I would be honored, you're much better at realistic color patterns than I am. I would be delighted to colour your line art. All I would need is for you to draw it with a minimal amount of shading and ideally without any kinds of patterning on it. But, all the scale details would be great, and perhaps an idea of what colours you would like to see on it? Just give me a ping when you've got something for me and I'll see what I can do! Hmm... It's a nice reconstruction, but I will admit the areas of pure black make it difficult for me to colour at all. I'd hate to ask you for another reconstruction, but that might have to be the case. It's probably also best to pass the reconstruction by the WP:DINOART reviewers before I get to colouring, because it's definitely more difficult to alter after the colours and shading have been added. The best way you can do your picture would be something like this that is mostly plain flat grey detail with a little bit of shading too. Sorry for any confusion! I have completed the grayed out version of my restoration, hope this is what you meant? It is also more high quality and includes scales and smaller details that the last one didn't. Ah, and as for the colors I have made this (very rough) map of what I think they should be and where it'd be ideal to place them. Oxalaia's habitat was likely subjected to brief periods of rainfall and high humidity followed by long periods of aridity, we don't know if these animals could change colors with the seasons/climate, but I think its safe to say it might've had coloration fitted for a dry, desert-like environment for most of the time. I'd like the bands and masks going across the sail, tail, and the head to be very dark (not necessarily pitch black) as illustrated, and the rest of the body to be a sort of beige, sandy color, kind of like a Gemsbok, with a distruptive color pattern. And as for the hands and feet I'd like a brown, kind of rusty touch to them especially on the fingers and toes. Good luck on the coloring! I'm also interested in how this turns out, I'm not so great with colours. I just noticed that many people apply grain/noise to all their digital paintings, is that also how you make textures, Paleocolour? Or is it the brushes that do it? FunkMonk (talk) 03:37, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

I also would be interested in knowing how you add texture, as I plan to make a lot of life restorations over the summer and color them digitally (I previously have used the Airbrush tool in GIMP with the Cell 02 brush, but that can look strange at times).
