Speedy deletion nomination of File:Psammoryctides barbatus.jpeg

A tag has been placed on File:Psammoryctides barbatus.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Dahr Abi Yaghi moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Dahr Abi Yaghi, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, or a link to an official government source showing it is a legally recognized populated place. This article has zero. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:49, 17 March 2023 (UTC)

How does this not meet GNG? It says "Populated, legally recognized places are typically presumed to be notable, even if their population is very low. " in WP:NPLACE. This is a legally recognized municipality. Libandata gets their info from the Lebanese government. It's also on GADM as well. The official village code for Dahr Abi Yaghi is 34211. You can go to cas.gov.lb and find it. You can find it here. CTRL + F 34211 PalauanReich (talk) 14:13, 17 March 2023 (UTC)

A small note

Hello, and thank you very much for your contributions in Natuna-related articles. I just wanted to left a small note that kabupaten ---> regency, hence the kecamatan ---> district, refering to the fact that kecamatan are called distrik in Papua and West Papua, hence the equivalent for subdsitrict would be kelurahan or desa Thank you Nyanardsan (talk) 03:02, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the info, although I thought a kelurahan was a village in a subdistrict, from looking at official government documents. For example, there are 7 kelurahans in the Serasan district. So should I change the articles to say district, instead of subdistrict. Thanks PalauanReich (talk) 16:47, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
If i'm not wrong, on BPS documents, the English version are usually translated using Google Translate (which is why I often found inconsistencies or broken translation). Yes, kelurahan and desa are both subdistricts and village, one is urban and the other is rural which might be used interchangeably depending on the context. For more information, there's also article on districts of Indonesia. Nyanardsan (talk) 01:35, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. I do use Google Translate for the documents to understand them so that might be an issue. PalauanReich (talk) 01:36, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

Teahouse

Please do not advise paid editors to edit articles directly. That is bad advice that will lead to problems. Cullen328 (talk) 18:18, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

@Cullen328 As long as he discloses it and acts according to our policies and guidelines, I don't find a problem with it. Obviously some paid editors should be restricted for editing but MelfarraTron seems to be acting in good faith. PalauanReich (talk) 21:45, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
WP:PAID says quite clearly that Paid editing is further regulated by a community guideline, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. This advises that those with a conflict of interest, including paid editors, are very strongly discouraged from directly editing affected articles, but should post content proposals on the talk pages of existing articles, and should put new articles through the articles for creation process, so they can be reviewed prior to being published. So, will you be strongly discouraging paid editors to directly edit articles, or will you be encouraging it? Cullen328 (talk) 22:00, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
I'm not supporting or discouraging anything. I simply said, the protection expires in three days so you will be able to edit it. It's not a big deal. If he makes bad edits i'll fix it. PalauanReich (talk) 23:11, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi PalauanReich. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Courcelles (talk) 10:33, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Sabranewlogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Sabranewlogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:40, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I have just reviewed your request to become a pending changes reviewer. Your submission at Articles for creation: Drew Durnil (April 25)

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Blaze Wolf was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This article was declined 4 times previously. It still relies too heavily on YouTube for sources which is not appropriate for a WP:BLP, additionally, from what I can see only 1 of the non-YouTube sources satisfies WP:INDEPTH (wasn't able to see sources 8 and 9, but given that it seems to be about 1 event that doesn't seem to satisfy WP:1E). It also doesn't read very encyclopedic still. Given all of the things I have stated I am rejecting this as non-notable. If any reviewer disagrees with this assessment they are free to undo the rejection so long as they let me know on my talk page first.

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to abortion, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Notify editors when draftifying

Hello PalauanLibertarian. I noticed you recently moved an unsuitable article to the draft namespace, but you did not explain why to the user who created it. It is important for you to leave a note for the user when doing this (see WP:DRAFTNOTIFY): we normally delete the redirect that is left behind, so if you don't leave a message then the user doesn't know that their article was moved. Please keep this in mind in the future, and thanks for patrolling new articles. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:26, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction

The following sanction now applies to you:

Indefinitely topic banned from abortion.

You have been sanctioned as per consensus of admins at this arbitration enforcement request.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Abortion#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Galobtter (talk) 20:16, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

See WP:TBAN for more info on what a topic ban entails. Galobtter (talk) 20:19, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of National Association for Gun Rights v. City of Naperville

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on National Association for Gun Rights v. City of Naperville requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

––FormalDude (talk) 00:01, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Locumba uprising), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
