Speedy deletion nomination of Phillip Allen Hall III edit

Hello Pahall1984,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Phillip Allen Hall III for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Okamialvis (talk) 08:05, 31 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay.   Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Phillip Allen Hall III. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you.JamesG5 (talk) 06:37, 1 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Phillip, I saw your comment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/Redirects#Redirect_request:_Phillip_A_Hall_III about the issues you've been having, and I assure you this is nothing personal and no one's trying to persecute you. The entire issue is that you keep repeatedly violating Wikipedia policies that are cited to you, with links to explain them, and then get angry when the rules are enforced. You CANNOT use content from other sites like IMDB, even if you wrote it yourself, without filing proper requests here to show that it's been released. Autobiographies are highly discouraged, and if they're going to last you have to provide a higher standard of references and resources. Notability doesn't automatically accrue from having famous family. Sites like IMDB are not considered valid references, etc. Until your articles meet the rules, they'll keep getting removed, and eventually you'll end up banned. Please take some time to read thru the things we've posted on this page, we're trying to help. JamesG5 (talk) 06:17, 6 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you want to publish this article...= edit

Please read all the blue-links in my following comments.

First, be mindful of the fact that autobiographies are strongly discouraged — you should not write about yourself on Wikipedia.

Second, if you feel you must write the article, then because you have a conflict of interest regarding yourself, the only available outlet for you is Wikipedia:Articles for creation. There, you may submit your article for review before it is accepted into main article space. You will not be permitted to write about yourself in main article space, as you have been attempting to do. Further attempts will result in your account being blocked for disruptive activity.

Lastly, Wikipedia:Golden rule gives you a brief overview of what is expected before your article is accepted here. If you cannot clearly demonstrate that you have had significant coverage in multiple reliable sources that are independent of you, then your article cannot be accepted. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:18, 8 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 16:41, 18 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • I've blocked you because you've repeatedly tried to recreate an article about yourself on Wikipedia despite cautions against you creating an article on yourself and because you've had a history of being WP:UNCIVIL to other editors. It's possible that you could be unblocked, but the following would be required:
  1. That you stop trying to add yourself to Wikipedia. You can request that an article be created in the future if you gain any major roles in notable films (walk ons, very small parts, or uncredited roles do not count towards notability), but you should not make any new articles or add yourself to various entries on Wikipedia. If you play a part that is major enough to warrant inclusion in an article, make a request on the talk page and if it is major enough, it will be added. Also, do not request that you be added to articles of people you claim are related to you. The only time we add relatives to articles is if the relation is well documented and the person in question is independently notable. Even then this is sometimes debatable since a person can have many relatives.
  2. That you be more civil when talking to other editors. I understand that Wikipedia is frustrating and the guidelines can be hard to understand (boy do I ever) but that is still not an excuse for attacking other editors or accusing them of impropriety.
  3. That you show how you will edit Wikipedia in ways other than about yourself. If you are only interested in editing about yourself it is extremely unlikely that you will be unblocked.
On a side note, a bit of explanation about IMDB: anyone can create a page there with little to no effort and we've had several instances of someone creating a false entry for people or productions, in the hopes of perpetuating a hoax or promoting themselves on Wikipedia or elsewhere. In some cases the hoaxes went undetected for years. In other words, you cannot use IMDb to back up major claims or even film roles because it's fairly easy to fake a page.
