James Barry edit

I just want to elaborate on my revert at James Barry: Currently, the article says very little about Barry's role in LGBT history. Given some of the discussion on the article's talk page, I'm led to believe that there probably are reliable sources that could be cited discussing his gender. With well-sourced discussion of the topic, that may satisfy WP:CATV and WP:CATLGBT; I'm not 100% sure, since I don't work much with categories. But if that category is to be added, it has to be after relevant text is added to the body of the article, not before. I hope you understand.

Even if you disagree with my interpretation of policy here, I would encourage you to voice that disagreement on the articles talkpage rather than reverting again. On a sensitive article like Barry's, it's important to avoid edit wars.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reply here or on my talk page. Thanks. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 10:24, 30 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I understand your position. Must confess, I haven't done a deep dive into Wikipedia's policies. I mainly edit articles after what I understand to be helpful for regular people doing research, and I learn afterwards if any of my edits conflict with Wikipedia's policies. There is one line about Lgbt theorists but no direct source "Historians, biographers, feminists, and LGBT theorists....". I just figured that since there was a big section about Barry's gender Identity, that the LGBT history category would be good enoug. Also considering that certain cross dresser categories are under LGBT categories as well. I'll leave off the category for now, and I may add to the discussion on the talk page later down the line. Thank you for explaining. Pago95 (talk) 10:44, 30 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia edit

Hello Pago95,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
