June 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Billie Piper has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. Orphan Wiki 16:30, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is the only warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Billie Piper, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia. magnius (talk) 16:30, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for spamming or advertising. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

I am Billie Piper's social media manager. I was not 'spamming' her wikipedia page, I was accurately updating her awards section. If you kindly take a look at http://www.billiepiperofficial.com/stage you will find a list of the awards she has been nominated for, the same list I was attempting to put in to wikipedia when I was blocked.

Decline reason:

I don't see where you were updating her awards, all I see is three attempts to add the following...

"In April a campaign was started to get Billie Piper's third single, Honey To The Bee, back in to the charts. You can join the facebook group [link]. The group has over 400 members and has had a lot of support including DJ Chris Moyles. The result is yet to be announced."

That's blatantly promotional, and it is what you were blocked for. (I do see where an unregistered IP was attempting to update those awards, which suggests you were evading this block by editing logged out.) Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:28, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

That really is not what I was putting in. I don't know who that was but it wasn't me, or anyone else on my IP address. Billie finished singing over a decade ago and it's not likely to be part of my plan to emphaise a re-entry of a decade-old song rather than a string of prestigious awards.

Decline reason:

So you're saying this account is shared, then? Who else could have made this edit but you? MER-C 12:12, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

No, that's not what I'm saying. This is my account. It was not me, it was not anyone else. I don't know where that post about the song is about. I was updating the award in theatre section, which is still out of date now that I'm blocked from editing the page.

Decline reason:

It sounds like perhaps your account is compromised, then. We don't unblock compromised accounts; see WP:COMPROMISED. Nor do we unblock accounts used solely for promotion; see WP:PROMO and WP:SPAM and WP:COI. Yamla (talk) 13:42, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Great, well, Wikipedia will be really reliable if people's representatives are blocked from adding facts. Can I not just change my password or something? This is ridiculous.

Decline reason:

No, it's important from a security standpoint not to unblock compromised accounts. And "people's representatives" are the ones most likely to run afoul of WP:PROMO and WP:SPAM and WP:COI. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 15:07, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

You really have to stop writing about the awards issue, as that has nothing to do with this block. You should really address the issue of who made this edit back in 2010? Was that you? Vanjagenije (talk) 20:11, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I repeat, this account has not made any edits whatsoever about Billie Piper's awards and is not blocked for anything to do with that. I fact, this account has done nothing to the Billie Piper article since promoting that "Honey To The Bee" campaign back in 2010. You can see all of the edits ever made by this account here, where you can clearly see the "Honey To The Bee" edits being made. Now, either *you* made those edits in 2010, or someone else made them using this account - and if it's the latter, then this account can not be unblocked.
