adding coordinates

Thank you for adding coordinates to the Landmark, Manitoba article. Note however that while "Canada" is a valid parameter for {{Coord missing}}, it is not valid parameter for {{Coord}}. A simple fix would be to replace Canada with region:CA. The Wiki format for disambiguating a location is normally by either bracket or comma, so "Name, location" or "Name (location)", so "Estonian Embassy, Ottawa". The problem with the old format is that many embassies are not called the way the format says they should, so for example "Embassy of the United Kingdom in Washington, D.C." is not correct either. They are all known as "British Embassy" (or High Commission), followed by name of place. Gryffindor (talk) 22:45, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

School coordinates

I notice that you gave the coordinates here for this high school. I have been adding photos for some high schools in the city of Surrey, BC, in Metro Vancouver where I live, and if possible, please feel free to add some coordinates to the articles if you can find them. Here are some of the school articles where I have added photos. The articles are a mixed bag in terms of textual content as usual but they are notable since they are high schools. I graduated from Princess Margaret in 1991--the last year that Roxette ever had any top 10 hit songs in the US.

Danko Jones

Hi there. Thanks for rating the Danko Jones article. I've put some work into it in order to get a better rating and obviously that has paid off. But I've kind of reached a dead end atm. Do you have any other suggestions as to what else could be improved? It's hell finding good sources for a band that isn't all that notable yet. I'm just looking for suggestions since I don't see how the article even could reach B-class despite how hard I try.

I usually try to take 2-3 pictures--only of high schools which I consider notable--if this is feasible but a coordinate is helpful for a schools wiki article. If you are unable or time constrained to help here for these 5 schools, that is quite fine but please let me know as a courtesy. • Thanks for your reply. I certainly respect your reasons. As I said, personally, I don't know where people seem to find the coordinates for schools, places and cities like this one in Cairo, Egypt here which is the only image I sourced that is a valued image. The Admin on Commons (for my Valued Image [VI] request) asked me to addd the coordinates and when I said I hadn't a clue, he said, no problem, he'd add it himself. Its the only copyright free photo for this Egyptian ruler. I got another image licensed freely too for 1 other pharaoh but I never did make a VI request. No time like you sadly! 1 clarification

I searched for the coordinates of Clayton Heights Secondary at 7003 188 Street in East Surrey, BC, via the Satellite map option and once I found the approximate school area, I right clicked and chose 'what's this' and this coordinate appeared: '49.130004,-122.701779'. As you can see, there are no map directions like a W, N, S or E and so I can't enter the coordinate for this school's wikipedia article. The school is located on the west side of 188 Street--that is all I am sure of since I took its photo.

What have I done wrong? Just curious. I notice in other schools there are usually 2 direction coordinates Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 06:10, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
