May 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Velella. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Impatiens glandulifera, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you.  Velella  Velella Talk   16:48, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. NeilN talk to me 14:11, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited Search engine optimization and inserted a link [[1]] which references " www.passiondigital.co.uk", and I noticed that your username, "PaddyPassionDigital", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87". Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.  Velella  Velella Talk   19:30, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Velella - thanks. You'll see above another user was kind enough to piint out the COi doc, but I wasn't aware about the issues with user names. I'll change that ASAP. Thanks! PaddyPassionDigital (talk) 07:53, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

The name change is only cosmetic. As long as you continue to work for your company and represent your clients on this site, we're going to have problems. -SFK2 (talk) 12:43, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
