Re: Few good things:)

Hey! To answer your ?s...

1. is it ok that I copied your resources article from your user page?

That's totally fine. I just took one of the welcome templates and modified it.

2. is there anyway to shrink a to-do list, like the one on my userpage?

I tried what I thought might work, but it didn't. Check out my to-do list. If you look at my infobox, there is a little section near the bottom that says "LaraLove subpages" (right above my useboxes). If you click on it, my to-do list is small, but it was automatic. I don't know how to make it small. Possibly, if you create a subpage and link to it that way, it will be small.

3. is there easy way to write your username at the end of a page, instead of going to your userpage and finding it?

I don't understand this question. What is it exactly you're wanting to do? Are you talking about your signature? I'm confused!

4. could you look over East Carolina University again. i think everything is cited or i took it out. i put some NPOV about the dental school. i increased the length using North Carolina State University as a template.

Sure thing. I'll look over it. LaraLoveT/C 04:17, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey. I'm not sure if I ever looked over it again after leaving you this message. I've lost internet several times, which put me out for a couple days or so off and on. Hopefully it's good now. I'll look back over it tonight. I'd also like to mention that you need to fix your signature. You have a sup tag at the end that causes all text after your signature to be tiny. I had to edit it to correct the entries on my talk page, I believe I did this the last time you left a message as well. You might want to look into it. LaraLoveT/C 03:43, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I did. See here in case you did not see it before. I'll still look over it again. LaraLoveT/C 03:47, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Okay, so here's what I've noted:

  • The lead is not an adequate summary of the article. It should include a little information from all sections.
  • Issues with conversions have not been corrected. See Category:Conversion_templates for assistance with this. It lists the various conversion templates. You just have to enter the main unit. It will automatically convert it for you.
  • I still don't like the format of the alumni.
  • Why are some of your references followed by (in English)? This is the English Wikipedia. It is implied, and recommended, that all references are in English. Only if they were in another language should that information be included in parenthesis after.
  • I also still don't like that the logo image interferes with the references.

I hope you just missed my last review, which is now archived on my talk page and linked above, because none of those issues seemed to have been addressed. LaraLoveT/C 05:33, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

East Carolina University

I'll probably take a look at in the next few days, I can't today since I have to work. With a quick glance, the article looks very good, but again, I'll read it soon. --Nehrams2020 20:31, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

With a quick look over the article and after I read the comments already at the peer review, I think the article should have little or no problems passing GA once the issues have been addressed. Good job on the article and I hope it passes. --Nehrams2020 02:55, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

East Carolina University

Hello, because of your lengthy past for helping articles achieve GA and FA status, I am asking if you could give East Carolina University a peer-review. I want to add the article to the Good article candidates list. Thank you, PGPirate

  • Thank you for the review of East Carolina University. When you wrote "There shouldn't really be bold text or external links within the prose." are you referring to when text such as East Carolina Teachers Training School is bolded? Should it be italized instead? Also with the external links, is a wiki red-link better? Thanks - PGPirate

Please, read my comments on the Talk:East_Carolina_University. Ruslik 07:37, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I passed this article. Ruslik 19:06, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

As you can see by my edit summary and User:EEMeltonIV's appraisal of the situation. I was partly justified in deleting those comments. I'm sure you wouldn't like your comments being copied inaccurately on to another page. 128.227.43.42 00:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Notability of GetEducated.com

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on GetEducated.com, by Hu (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because GetEducated.com seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting GetEducated.com, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 22:00, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

{{ECU-stub}}

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 02:53, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: Adoption

Hi. I'm not really adopting in general, I actually withdrew from the program, but I would be willing to "adopt" you (even if un-officially) because of your ties to WP:CFB. My activity level has dropped off a TON (which is why it took me so long to reply) and I really only do WP:CFB, some admin things once in awhile and plan to write about CU this fall. But, if you're willing to have me adopt you despite my lack of activity lately, I promise I will reply to your questions quicker than this one. I typically check in at least once a day. Lemme know, and whether you want to go the "official" or un-official route. MECUtalk 16:49, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:The Daily Reflector Logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The Daily Reflector Logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Just thought I'd point out that you've nominated Image:Avery Small(Football Warrior).jpg for deletion at WP:CFD, which is the wrong forum for images! Regards, BencherliteTalk 23:03, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject East Carolina University

This is to inform you that the above WikiProject which you created is being discussed for deletion in accord with wikipedia policy. Please feel free to take part in the discussion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject East Carolina University. Thank you. John Carter 21:57, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Pirate: I supported keeping your project on the basis that you personally were actively editing. Based on the deletion discussion, your page, and discussions elsewhere on what ought to happen to inactive projects, I took the position that your project should be made a task force or maybe more appropriately userfied until you can obtain more membership. Your best bet would be to userfy the project and then post on Proposals your topic with a link to your userfied page. If you gain member interest, you can rename later either as a stand alone project or, more likely, as a task force. Thoughts?--Doug.(talk contribs) 19:56, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Wikimania in Atlanta!

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 22:51, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Lobstrini

I've removed the speedy from this, as it's certainly not "unsalvageably incoherent" as you tagged it. While it may be a hoax, possible hoaxes should never be speedied/prodded. I've sent it to AfD for consensus.iridescent (talk to me!) 21:31, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Your CSD for Ride & Show Engineering, Inc.

Please review both the article and talk page and let me know your thoughts on your nomination for this article for WP:CSD#A7. I would say at worst this would be a WP:AFD, but not a CSD. Tiggerjay 05:21, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Costa Del Mar Logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Costa Del Mar Logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:39, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Congrats!

East Carolina University which you have significantly improved is currently being featured on Portal:North Carolina. Keep up the great work! --Mr.crabby (Talk) 21:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Let me know what I can do to help. I'd love to see a North Carolina-related article on the front page. --Mr.crabby (Talk) 03:29, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Removing Redirects/AWB Usage

Hi, PGPirate. Two things: 1. I noticed that you have been using AutoWikiBrowser to change some links that point to redirects so that they point to the targets directly. Note that this is discouraged on Wikipedia, as it generally does more harm than good. Which leads to #2: Your automated edits using AWB to the East Carolina links mangled text and links on about 25 pages and templates. Please be certain that these automated tools are editing as you intend them to. (I've reverted your changes that created the mangled ECU text and links...I think I got them all.) Thanks. WildCowboy 11:18, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Finance

Howdy. Please, please be more careful with your automated search and replace. I'm currently trying to fix all of the damage from your insertion of "finance|" into every single occurrence of "financial", even if it was not within a wikilink. You've broken links, quotes, and inserted the "|" symbol into the middle of regular text. Kuru talk 14:28, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok, that was an unbelievable mess. I've simply reverted all of your changes from last night - I could find very few instances where the F&R successful performed the operation you intended cleanly. If you need assistance with performing such an automated task in the future, please ask. Kuru talk 14:41, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

AAAUGH! STOP !!!

I don't know what's going wrong, but whenever you are attempting to revert vandalism, you are cutting out about half the article. I noticed in on Honduras, and when I went to check your other contributions, it's happening all over.Kww (talk) 20:42, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Looks like it was just Honduras and United States Marine Corps. They are fixed now, but you should try and figure out what happened.Kww (talk) 20:46, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm curious

And thus I am asking you for your rationale.

Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Template:Trivia clearly says at the heading: "The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the template below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page." But you edited it to alter the spelling of a word (this diff refers.

One might say "but that was a trivial edit," but one might also say "the header says what it means," or "means what it says". So I am interested in your rationale for the edit. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:23, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah, looking at your contributions log I think I can see what happened. It looks as though you ran AWB (a tool I am unfamiliar with) and had it correct the spelling of catagory pretty much wherever it appeared. It seems to me that this was a good faith and potentially unwise action, especially in view of the issue with (I think) finance| that you had a little earlier this month. It seems to me that your edit may well have run roughshod over a number of articles, not just the one I mentioned above.
The question thus becomes even more important: If the edit was against the express instructions in a header, the rationale is interesting, and, presumably, the plan for corrective action. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:35, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

AWB

Re: [1]

When running things like scripts and AWB, run them only in the main article namespace, and don't change people's comments with them. -- Ned Scott 08:31, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
