Be careful to what you revert. The last version by 76.174.77.121 was vandalized as well. [1] --Edcolins 20:22, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Antipope John VIII edit

You were involved in a discussion about Antipope John VIII on the article's talk page. Do you think the article can be expanded? I can't find any additional information to add to the article. --Eastmain 23:31, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD Nomination: NFOrce edit

I've nominated the article NFOrce for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that NFOrce satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NFOrce. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of NFOrce during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. Sorry, my mistake, it looked like you were the original author - I didn't click back to the earliest entries in the history. I'll be more thorough next time. Sandstein 19:54, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Cheers! Owen× 20:10, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

User talk:141.154.209.201 edit

Thanks for blocking my friend from Boston. FWIW, here is some of the background. He can't vandalize his preferred target, Prussian Blue (duo), so he takes out his frustration elsewhere. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 00:47, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thanks for the revert (I guess you don't owe me for doing the same then ;-). Could you give some input on this, before it drives me crazy and I start blocking everyone who has edited that article in the past month to be done with it? I would like someone else's thoughts. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Israel Aircraft Industries logo.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Israel Aircraft Industries logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do Some Research Before You Label A Fact As "Nonsense" edit

Hi, just wanted to let you know that my "trivia" section under George W. Bush, stating that he is the most protested human being in history is in fact, true. so, as the title of this topic suggests, do some research before you label a fact as nonsense. Thanks for removing my post and therefore depriving people of knowledge, which is, oddly enough, the very purpose of an encyclopedia, albeit an online one. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by I love the punk music (talkcontribs) 22:29, 30 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

Hiding a link to a punk rock album instead of the original link to a military campaign ([2]) is not "knowledge" or "fact". You may find it amusing, but the rest of us here trying to write an encyclopedia consider this to be petty vandalism. I was being kind by calling it "nonsense"; this kind of behaviour will ultimately lead to you being blocked from editing altogether. Owen× 00:28, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Finance Portal edit

I saw your work on finance related articles. I have been doing a lot of work on the structured finance end of wikipedia structured finance, asset-backed securities securitization etc. I am interested in creating a Finance portal to start organizing the financial links in wikipedia. There is one user so far who has also been very active who is going to start work on this but were looking for some more. We created this site: Wikipedia:WikiProject Finance Would you be interested?

If you are can you email me from my user page --DrewWiki 20:02, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism again edit

I noticed that you had blocked an anonymous user for 3 months in November. The user was using Monash University ID and persisted with several instances of vandalism in between using diffrenet computers.Sevaral pages have been vandalised by this user-in cluding Sony and Joh Funder.I have warned heim as have many others.I wonder if he is a fit candidaye for longer blocks.Regards(Vr 10:08, 8 February 2007 (UTC))Reply

Removal of warnings edit

You don't have to check the page history to see whether a user has removed warnings or block messages. The removal of warnings can be seen in the user's contributions, which any vandal patroller should check anyway to see whether the user in question has vandalized more pages. Edits to the own user talk page are a typical indication that previous warnings have been removed, and a sterner warning can be given (or a block applied directly). Note that the block is for vandalising the encyclopedia, not for removing boilerplate messages from the own talk page. Kusma (討論) 14:02, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I understand your point. However, there is no valid reason for a vandal to remove such warnings minutes after they're issued, and it does make it, at least marginally, more difficult for patrollers to recognize the amount of prior warnings a vandals has already received and decide on the next step to take. Take a look at a history such as this; I'm sure you'll be able to figure out the full warning history, but the time you spend doing that can be better spent fixing other vandalism.
I am not going to get into an edit war with you over this, but I--and most admins--will continue to treat the removal of warnings as disruptive, so it's only fair to warn vandals of this beforehand. I'll leave it up to you to come up with a better wording, if you wish. Owen× 01:39, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I just noticed the above conversation. You might want to come here [3] if you want to join in conversation on this issue. It seems like we keep revisiting the issue of user page blanking here and there. Not sure we really have good consensus on this. --Kukini 22:05, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:PigsisPigs0.jpg edit

Hello OwenX, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:PigsisPigs0.jpg) was found at the following location: User talk:OwenX/Archive 4. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 04:53, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello OwenX we last spoke in october 2006 I am here to let you know that I done a lot of good deeds to make up for vandalisng yesterday I was the one who created the Shrek the Third: The Motion Picture Soundtrack page and the one who created the orginal shrek the third soundtrack page but not the one who created the shrek the third ost page i was however the one who redirected the shrek the third ost page to Shrek the Third: The Motion Picture Soundtrack page by the way page is not in the name of the soundtrack page so i have done way more good deeds then that so maybe i should be promoted. do not go near this page again- your "contributions" are not welcome

Ahem, thanks for spotting the vandalism (probably from the same eejit as left the comment above) I didn't realise he/she had vandalised my userpage too until I checked their contributions Alastairward 12:53, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ahem. edit

The article on criminal justice is a discombobulated, barely-coherent mess that is not governed by any rational or coherent sense of organization that I can understand. I have attempted to salvage it, but I fear it is unsalvageable. I am in the process of re-writing the entire article from scratch. Please do not load up my discussion page with your useless condescending bullshit until you see the finished product. Thank you. 72.178.131.225 01:19, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I thought this was the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Again, all of my edits were valid contributions and nothing I have done deserves your criticism. And while you may not be here "for my entertainment," (whatever the hell that means) I am not here for you to harass. Please keep you unneeded comments to yourself. 72.178.131.225 22:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok. Great! Let me know when you are done.
Just so you have a note, we want to move content of Social software to Social Software Tools and turn Social software page into a disambiguating page containing links to: 1. Social Software - the field of research for design and analysis of Social Procedures. 2. Social Software Tools - tools used by people for computer-mediated communication.

IP Address Ownership edit

Let me get this straight - I own this IP address, or at least I rent it. Its a private residence. VanTucky decides to paste a bunch of glop here, I don't want to see it, and you're DEFENDING his right to do that? I've contributed over 1000 positive edits to Wikipedia and I don't need to be preached to. I'll log in using my main address from now on, but really, you don't like it when I put crap on your talk page, and you reverted it, so why don't I have the right to do the same?24.15.208.65 02:44, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thanks for protecting my talk page. The user was partly correct. I don't mind that he removed the text from the page because the issue I was having with him was the removal of text relating to him. There was something of an AUTO issue. But he should have asked me first and it definitely appeared inappropriate. So I’m glad to know that there are diligent users watching these things. Thanks again. --JGGardiner 19:22, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
