Fair use rationale for Image:Hunter R.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hunter R.jpeg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Nonsense of Springerdor edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Springerdor, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Springerdor provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Springerdor, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. AfD nomination of Viruses in the Resident Evil series edit

I have nominated Viruses in the Resident Evil series, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Viruses in the Resident Evil series. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Images edit

Is there any way in that we can keep ALL or most of the images on this ENGLISH List of B.O.W's (Resident Evil) article? The BOW's are INCREDIBLY difficult to describe. LOTRrules (talk) 23:32, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your edits edit

Hey there, thanks for all your edits to B.O.W. but there were a few problems with them.

  1. You gave trivia that could get the article deleted as trivia according to Wiki-guidleines is/ are irrelavent.
  2. you gave too much information which again might get the article delted
  3. If you want to make a major edit like you did in the article please go to the discussion page and write out what you are going to do - let's people know what your going to do.
  4. you added in pictures that were discussed not to be on the page. Please keep the pictures as we still need them - I will contact you for that later on as I am still editing the article, but currently I'm cautious - we don't want the article to get deleted now do we?
  5. You also gave plot details. Now this is a sensitive and quite confusing and I got it wrong as well when I started making major edits to it. Wikipedia especially hates giving away plot details in characters. Since the article is not going to be a list but a proper article on BOWs in RE plot details are a big no-no. If you want to edit then please provide information on when it was created by the artist not the mad scientist.

If you want to contact me if you have any queries about stuff on BOW please go to my take page. Remember hold on to those pictures or place them on another page to avoid deletion. LOTRrules (talk) 16:46, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Thanatos R Tyrant.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Thanatos R Tyrant.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Speedy deletion of Don't Tell Rachel edit

A tag has been placed on Don't Tell Rachel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Scapler (talk) 07:57, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image without license edit

Unspecified source for Image:Hunter R.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hunter R.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:30, 12 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 22:30, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Halo - Interactive Strategy Game edit

A tag has been placed on Halo - Interactive Strategy Game, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

Also, see WP:SPEEDY, which says, "The creator of a page may not remove a Speedy Delete tag from it." I'm reverting your removal of the tag. If you wish to contest the notice, please follow the instructions it provides. —Largo Plazo (talk) 15:22, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
The article did little but act as a trailer for the product, with minimal real content (unlike the articles you compared it with). By the same token, you haven't provided independent verifiable sources to show that it meets the notability guidelines. The links are just to the company website, and - surprise - a trailer! jimfbleak (talk) 17:53, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Reach.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Reach.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Biohazard: The Umbrella Chronicles Original Soundtrack edit

Hi. Hmm - keeping articles like this is always tricky. As I mentioned, simply because similar articles exist doesn't mean that this one should - but nor does it mean that the other articles should exist, and they might be deleted as well. Theoretically, the soundtrack album still has to meet notability criteria - detailed here: WP:MUSIC. If you can't find anything to meet the criteria listed, then it still needs to meet the general notability criteria at WP:N, and provide soem sort of encyclopedic content - a track listing on it's own isn't really encyclopedic. One thing that would certainly help your case would be to find independent coverage of the soundtrack - newspapers articles, magazine listings - even well-respected websites would help (but definately not youtube, myspace or blogs as these aren't regarded as reliable independent sources) - you certainly need to include references/sources in the article if it's to stand any reasonable chance of being kept. Drop me a message if anything's sill unclear :-) CultureDrone (talk) 10:37, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:3RR violation edit

Hi OsirisV, while I realize that you believe that you were removing false information from Resident Evil: Degeneration, you performed four reverts on the article within an 8-hour period. Wikipedia:Three-revert rule, which is official policy, explicitly forbids more than three reversions by the same editor on one article in any 24-hour period. As I don't believe you have been warned about this before, I am declining to block you at this time, although I believe most administrators would automatically instate a 24-hour block. Please be careful in the future. Cheers,--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 04:18, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
