Editing one's own comments edit

Per WP:REDACT, "It is best to avoid changing your own comments [on talk pages]." Thus rather than entirely removing one's comments consider using deletion in the format <del>like this</del>, which appears thus:like this or a 'placeholder' such as "[Comment removed by author.]". You may find more info at WP:REDACT and feel free to ask me any questions. Thanks. [The page I specifically noticed was Talk:Tritone substitution#German 6th. You may also be interested in archiving your talk page rather than blanking it (though I believe that in regards to your own talk page it is pretty much up to you).] Hyacinth (talk) 22:55, 17 May 2012 (UTC) [23:15, 17 May 2012 (UTC)]Reply

Thanks for the reference! I've been wondering about the most correct way of doing this. Ormaaj (talk) 20:19, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
