Referring to the "not sure" list of countries

Dear user White Cat, i've noticed that on your userpage you have a list of countries that u're "not sure" if u want to visit them. Assuming that the list was compiled on the basis of personal and general safety to the tourist, i want to recommend to you to drop at least 4 of the 12 countries that are listed there
The countries that i'm talking about are Israel, Cuba, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. these countries are recommended by me to be dropped because i know for a fact on at least two of them, that these countries are not dangerous for tourists and are actually very pleasent to be toured. Please consider my recommendation --Oren neu dag (talk) 22:06, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure you're aware of this, but any religion besides Islam is prohibited in Saudi Arabia. If you want to perform your religion's rituals, you must do it in your own home in complete privacy (that is allowed), or you'll be considered as a moral corruptor. Siúnrá (talk) 11:22, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
I placed these countries under "not sure to go" under the basis of my preference to travel not safety. I am not saying I wont go there, all I am saying is they are not high on priority in my list to go. For example if there is a wikimania in one of those countries, I would go without a second thought. -- Cat chi? 17:23, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Allegations of apartheid deletion notification

Some time ago, you participated in a deletion discussion concerning Allegations of Israeli apartheid. I thought you might like to know that the parent article, Allegations of apartheid, was recently nominated for deletion. Given that many of the issues that have been raised are essentially the same as those on the article on which you commented earlier, you may have a view on whether Allegations of apartheid should be kept or deleted. If you wish to contribute to the discussion, please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of apartheid (fifth nomination). -- ChrisO (talk) 18:08, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for the informations. --Neq00 (talk) 12:12, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Your edit to my userpage

Thanks for your edit, but I'd just like to let you know - although I don't mind, some users would not be very happy if you edited their userpage for them. It's considered their own space, for them to do what they want (within the policies of Wikipedia). Just a warning so you don't get flamed by surprise if you edit someone else's page. Even so, I'm going to swap the image back, cos I think the previous one works better. Also please remember to provide a descriptive edit summary. —Vanderdeckenξφ 19:08, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

ADSL Userbox

OK.Noles1984 (talk) 16:59, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

And thanks for the move of the 10Mbit ADSL. BTW, do you know the steps in creating a template to consolidate all of the code info? Noles1984 (talk) 17:02, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Just copy the way all other userboxes are built, and build your own userbox on the same general lines. --Oren neu dag (talk) 17:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
I did figure out how templates are created by looking at your work. Thank you immensely — Noles1984 (talk) 18:17, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Pro Georgia

I have speedily deleted this userbox of yours because it violates WP:CSD#T1, in that it is divisive and inflammatory. Wikipedia is never to be used as a soapbox for ones political ideals. Any further content such as that will result in deletion and a block on your account.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:56, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Ryūlóng, there is nothing inflammatory in this usebox, and there are others much more inflammatory and devisive userboxes than this one. Your speedy delete was en example of bad use of admin powers! --Oren neu dag (talk) 23:01, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Again... How dare you Ryūlóng to say that being Pro-Georgia is inflammatory?! --Oren neu dag (talk) 23:04, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
The template is against policy. If you create it again you will be blocked.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:06, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Just Look at how much other userboxes there are of ideas:
And You Call My userbox inflammatory?! this is really a very bad use of admin powers! --Oren neu dag (talk) 23:17, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
A lot of those should probably be deleted. In fact, nearly all of the userboxes you list on your own userbox page should be deleted.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:21, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, for the sake of peace, I'm offering a compromise:You will recreate the userbox into {{user:Oren neu dag/my userboxes/User Pro Georgia}}, and this will at least solve some of the problem according to the "German Solution". If this still won't be satisfactory, than my request is that it will be put into Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion - where other wikipedians can have their say as well. --Oren neu dag (talk) 23:28, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
It's still divisive and inflammatory. The "German solution" was an attempt to move the templates out of the Template space because they were only used on user pages.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:30, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
but do you at least accept the request to move it to move it to Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion? --Oren neu dag (talk) 23:32, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
The initial template was clearly covered by WP:CSD#T1. If you wish to get it restored, I suggest WP:DRV.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:33, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
and how is that process done? --Oren neu dag (talk) 23:36, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
WP:DRV has all of the instructions on their page.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 00:05, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Luchot image

In the Torah, Anochi is spelled without the Vav. -- Avi (talk) 18:58, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

At first i was not sure about the correct spelling so i wrote it out of my gut feeling, but now that u corrected, I re-uploaded the image again in the corrected form. thanks for telling me where i was wrong, I appreciate it a lot. --Oren neu dag (talk) 11:43, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

CSA Patent Office Seal

I see you've made an svg equivalent to Image:Seal of the Confederate States of America.png at Image:Seal of the Confederate States of America.svg. Would you be interested in seeing if you can do anything about Image:CSA Patent Office Seal.gif, which is a bit of a mess? TJRC (talk) 22:02, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

I'll do my best... but i can't promise anything. In Anyway I think that the best possible solution lies in the Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/Image workshop. --Oren neu dag (talk) 22:12, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I didn't know about that resource. TJRC (talk) 22:38, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Royal Badge of Wales

It was previously agreed on the talk page that this would not be included in the info box. This was pointed out to you on a previous reversal. If you disagree then re-open the subject on the talk page rather than starting an edit war. --Snowded TALK 14:09, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Front Deutscher Äpfel

Dear Oren neu dag, I'm a german from-time-to-time wikipedia reader and editor. Would you be so kind to check the last changes for mistakes? The last IP-Changes are all done by me and my english is not the best. Thank you very much. Sincerely yours, --79.194.107.177 (talk) 16:54, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Israel Defense Forces

Hi Oren! Thanks for editing the article Israel Defense Forces. You seem to be interested in this topic, and I was wondering if you could help with sourcing the article and rewriting it. I started a rewrite a while ago, and have completed the lead and history sections so far, although they lack sources at the moment. The basic structure we agreed on at WP:ISRAEL was User:Ynhockey/Israel_Defense_Forces, but this is by no means final and can change, so please discuss if you wish :) I really hope we can make this article at least a GA, which is deserves. Cheers, Ynhockey (Talk) 22:27, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Toro de Osborne.svg

Thanks for uploading Image:Toro de Osborne.svg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
