Hockey player notability

As alaney2k said in the Scott Wilson AfD, Wikipedia's notability guidelines, and the special guidelines for hockey players, were developed based on a broad consensus of Wikipedia editors. Exceptions can be made in special circumstances - if of course there is a consensus to make an exception - but I don't see anything with these players which would warrant an exception. Consensus could change, but that would require a discussion on the relevant guideline talk pages, and would take time (assuming there would be a consensus for a change at all). The guidelines are particularly important in cases like this involving a living person, because mischief to the page due to vandalism could result in real life harm to the article's subject. It is unfortunate that it looks like some of your first article creations fall short of the project's notability guidelines, at least for the time being (of course, once these players hit the ice as NHLer - and maybe before - they will be notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia article). I hope this experience with AfD does not discourage you from future contributions - unfortunately the process can seem harsh, but keeping the guidelines in mind for future article creations should insure that they do not get deleted. Per WP:2DABS. There are only two articles with variants of this name, Josh Archibald and Josh Archibald-Seiffer. Search shows no other Josh or Joshua Archibald mentioned on Wikipedia.
