Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Ooredoo Palestine. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Ooreedoo Palestine, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Edwardx (talk) 11:45, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

July 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  N.J.A. | talk 11:02, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

March 2024 edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:20, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

This account is not trying to promote any service or business, our profile on Wikipedia is only informative. Our blocked account is provoking us from making any change on any old or new content. Ooredoo Palestine (talk) 11:05, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You just abbreviated a portion of your current username, this is not acceptable. Please read the username policy. Accounts are strictly single person use only. Your username must represent you, the person sitting at the computer/holding the device operating this account, not your company. Your real name is not required. The company name can be a portion of your username, such as "JohnSmith of Ooredoo" or similar. Wikipedia is not for merely providing information, it is for summarizing what independent reliable sources say about a topic, not what it wants to say about itself. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you want to edit about other topics in the short term, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 11:37, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Per WP:CORPNAME "Because Wikipedia's policy is that usernames should not be shared, the following types of usernames are not permitted.:

  • Usernames that are simply names of companies or groups (these also fall under Promotional names).
  • Usernames that are names of posts within organizations, such as "Secretary of the XY Foundation", are not permitted, as such a post may be held by different persons at different times.
  • However, usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", "WidgetFan87", etc."
  • (Your real name is not a good idea. Better to make something up.) -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:30, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
