Speedy deletion of Barycentric-sum problem

edit

A tag has been placed on Barycentric-sum problem, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. CiTrusD (talk) 00:27, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

edit

First, I'd like to say welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you like what we have going here and decide to stick around and help us out! I'd like to clear up a few things:

  • Your page was not deleted by me. It was deleted by an admin. What I did was read the article when you first created it, determined it was a candidate for speedy deletion and tagged it for such deletion. An admin came by, agreed with my assessment and deleted the article.
  • Don't feel bad! It's not that we don't want you to contribute, it is eager people like you that make this place so great. However, your article appeared to be nonsense (probably because it was formatted incorrectly and looked a lot like gibberish).
  • Read this page and give it another shot! There is a ton of information in there about how to write your article correctly, how to cite it and how to be sure it is notable.

If you need some more help, don't hesitate to leave another message on my talk page. CiTrusD (talk) 01:43, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Couple things

edit
  • Regarding the barycentric-sum problem, is this a theorem you have come up with yourself (or with others)? If so, this can be a potential problem.
  • Many mathematical articles include formulas. I have no clue if your problem does, but feel free to use the "mathematical formula" function when editing.
  • The article, as it currently reads, is extremely technical and confusing. I didn't know what the Barycentric-sum problem was, and after reading the current copy of your article, I still don't.
  • Take a look at the articles written in the Mathematics Portal, this should give you an idea of what math-related article look like and you can try to model yours from them.
  • Finally, don't take ownership of articles by putting your name on the page (as with this line "Corresponding author : Oscar Ordaz (flosav@cantv.net)"). All material on Wikipedia is free and it isn't owned by anyone. Thus, a byline is unnecessary.
  • Keep working on it, I'll check in periodically. If I am not around, feel free to use the Help Desk. CiTrusD (talk) 02:18, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Context

edit

I've put a "context" tag on barycentric sum problem. You can't begin by assuming the reader is a mathematician or understand mathematical jargon, without first telling the reader that mathematics is what the article is to be about. If I knew more about the topic, I'd add some introductory words. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (mathematics). Michael Hardy (talk) 03:53, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dearr Michael, I'm new in Wikipedia, I tryed my best but everyday i get new tags ...., if you look at similar articles like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-sum_problem, i find my article very complete and self explain for those that should be interested in the subject. This is not a simple subject and I donr expect that everybody find it clear, but for thos interested in the matter I think that it will be helpful. Please help me improve my skills in wikipidea, to understand if complex content could be publish, thanks for your help in advance
