As the notice states, Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. We have a policy that states that an editor can not remove a speedy deletion tag from a page they have created. We have editors who scan Category:Empty categories awaiting deletion throughout the day and untag categories that are no longer empty. Empty categories sit for a week in this category just in case they are only temporarily empty. So, in the case of empty categories, speedy deletion isn't really "speedy". Thank you. Liz ^{Read!
