Helpme request

An editor placed a notability tag for Ezginin Gunlugu which I created today. This group is quite popular in Turkey not less than any other in the category Turkish musical groups. What is the reason that only this group gets that notability tag and what would be the best way to remove it? I don't want this entry to be deleted.

The best way to deal with notability issues is to supply some published, third-party sources about the band, such as magazine articles and album reviews. The same should be done for the other articles in that category that don't have independent sources, but it just so happens that someone came across this one, probably because it is a new article. —Centrx→talk • 03:26, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Algebraic integer

The articles Integrality, Integral closure, and Algebraic integer duplicate a good deal of information from one another. I have proposed that they be merged. The text of Integrality, which I wrote, covers the most general case (at least for commutative rings), so I think something along the lines of that text should be the part that says general stuff like, "The sum and product of two algebraic integers is again an algebraic integer," and so on. The texts from the other two generally cover the special case of algebraic numbers integral over Z, and contain useful information about that special case. What is your opinion about this? In my opinion they should remain seperate. The property of being algebraic is something easier to grasp than the property of being integral. One should see the rational numbers before dealing with field of fractions. One may give the example of algebraic integers in the article Integrality like the example of rational numbers in field of fractions.OmerKs 02:58, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

All right. Actually, I've reread Integral closure and it seems to deal with integral domains in general. Certainly, that case isn't any easier than commutative rings, at least for the definitions, so maybe we should just merge Integral closure into Integrality. We should probably give the example of the algebraic integers in Integrality and in Algebraic integer allude to the fact that that's a special case of what's covered at Integrality. Another option would be to do essentially that, but have the general discussion of integrality on the page Algebraic integer in a separate section. Eventually, though, you need to talk about rings if you're going to get anywhere, even in the number theory case, so the theorems from the general case, such as the going-up theorem, become necessary. Teaching of evolution in Turkey

Hello, I presume you would be able to answer this question for me: Is evolution widely taught in public high school biology courses in Turkey? The article creation and evolution in public education focuses mainly on the US, but I'm sure there are other countries where it is controversial or not even taught at all, and I'd like to see the article reflect this. I'm certain it can't be taught in the Islamic fundamentalist areas like Saudi Arabia, but what about Turkey? I know it is a secular country, but I imagine there would be just as many people opposed to teaching evolution as there would in the US. Then again, I know very little about Turkey. Would you be able to give me some idea on what the situation is like there? Richard001 01:28, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Richard. Evolution is a part of the high school education in Turkey. It's taught in 8th degree in the primary school. After the primary school the high school comes and the evalution is taught again (in a more deeply fashion) if the specialization of the student is the natural sciences. Even it's included both in primary and high schools, I can't tell you how widely it's taught. For your future research, you may want to check if Iran teach or mention evolution within their high school or higher education. They are told to be more intellectual in some aspects with respect to Turkey. OmerKs 22:00, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link.
