Welcome! edit

Hello, Omani8678, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Umar II does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Questions page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 07:55, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Omani8678! Please be wp:bold when editing, but also be prepared to see some of your edits reverted. There's no harm, any edit you make can always be undone. I'd also recommend reading MOS:ISLAMHON. Thanks, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 17:39, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

July 2022 edit

Hi Omani8678! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Salman the Persian several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Salman the Persian, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 08:15, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove information from articles, as you did to Bilal ibn Rabah‎. Wikipedia is not censored, and content is not removed on the sole grounds of perceived offensiveness. Please discuss this issue on the article's talk page to reach consensus rather than continuing to remove the disputed material. If the content in question involves images, you also have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide the images that you may find offensive. Thank you.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:32, 31 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

New spin-off article edit

Hi, fellow editor! I'm going "door to door" to bring this proposal to the editors' attention. Please consider posting your view. Thanks! Albertatiran (talk) 07:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

October 2022 edit

Hi Omani8678! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Amir al-Sha'bi that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 16:36, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Updating data without updating the source provided edit

Hello. You have been « updating » economic data in infoboxes of a number of countries without providing any new source: please stop doing that. The existing source is the WEO database of April 2022. Until a new update of this is available, data should not be modified in the infoboxes. Sapphorain (talk) 13:27, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey. Isn't this is a source? Omani8678 (talk) 13:46, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is user generated data and is not a reliable source. While the material in that article is sourced with updated references, you need to update the references in the individual articles if you change them otherwise they will be reverted. Canterbury Tail talk 13:58, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, it's not. Wikipedia cannot be used as a source for itself.--Sapphorain (talk) 14:21, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

MOS:BOLDLINKAVOID edit

Hi. And welcome. You appear to be making a series of unexplained edits across a volume of articles which, no doubt with the best of intentions, are inconsistent with MOS:BOLDLINKAVOID guidelines. (All of the leads/titles of those "Economy of ..." articles were perfectly fine as they were. Each being consistent with the related guidelines. Given that you chose not to use an edit summary, its not clear why you thought that a series of wholescale style changes were required, but it might be worth reading-up on the relevant style guidelines before making style changes across a volume of articles.) Please read the relevant guideline, and consider self-reverting any changes which are inconsistent with that guideline. Guliolopez (talk) 16:06, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
