Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you have inserted Creative Commons licensed text into Wikipedia, as you did at List of fictional towns and villages. You are welcome to import appropriate Creative Commons licensed content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Compatibly-licensed sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any Creative Commons content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 19:57, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Anthony Godby Johnson

edit

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Anthony Godby Johnson, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Egyptians in the United Kingdom, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Class. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Categories in biography articles

edit

Please do not add religion, ethnic, or descent categories or information to biography articles without first ensuring that 1) the category is supported by reliably sourced article content, 2) the individual identifies as such, and 3) it is a defining characteristic of the individual . Please see WP:BLPCAT, WP:EGRS, and WP:CATDEF for additional information. -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:14, 18 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

English people of X descent

edit

Please don't add People of X descent categories to these articles. English people of X descent is a subcat of British people of X descent, which will already be in the category. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:06, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

You're now doing it again with people of Scottish descent! These people are also British. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:07, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Fine, sorry it no longer occurs. -- talk 06:19, November 23,2021 (UTC)
