November 2020 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Smoky quartz has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 08:29, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Navaratna. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Materialscientist (talk) 08:46, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Nirmala Srivastava, you may be blocked from editing. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:35, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Edit request edit

I would like this information added to the page about oligodynamic effects https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper-silver_ionization Oligodynamism (talk) 10:13, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think this information is very useful knowledge in the context of the oligodynamic page and would like it properly added https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper-silver_ionization for some reason my contribution was deleted Oligodynamism (talk) 10:15, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have added a link to Copper-silver ionization and Antimicrobial properties of copper for you. There does seem to be some overlap of content on these pages. I can't help further today (as I'm busy in real life right now) but stating on the relevant talk page your desire to make further changes, and supporting each with a clear, succinct rationale and supporting citations is often the best way. Your username suggests you have a strong knowledge or interest in the subject (which is great!), but do avoid the pitfall of adding content from your personal knowledge without giving a citation to allow others to verify it. New editors sometimes try to charge in and make big changes without fully understanding how things operate here, and then go away frustrated when all they see is their helpful edits being reverted. It's oftena case of learning how to walk before running. For a new editor, I recommend trying out this interactive tour, reading this guide on adding references, and these instructions for reusing the same reference within a page. If you need further help, either repeat your edit request on the relevant article's talk page, or enquire at the Teahouse. Hope this helps a bit. Nick Moyes (talk) 10:30, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Checking edit

For some reason message didn't register Oligodynamism (talk) 11:37, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Are you trying to WP:PING me? It's only by chance I saw this message, but you didn't provide a link to what you tried to edit, so I have absolutely no idea what you're asking here. (I'll add your page to my 'Watchlist' so I can check for any other posts you might make. But including my correctly formatted username, signing your post as you've been doing and then saving in one and the same edit is the way to do it so that I get a little red bell alert which tells me I've been 'pinged' somewhere.
