Hey Okkisafire, I am new to wikipedia too, i will check over the grammar first and then see what I can do about adding the article to the Mythology page. I'm no computer guru so it may take a little while! Hillbillyholiday talk 02:56, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have checked about half the spelling and grammar and changed some of the quotes from italics to " ... " Also formatted the quotes. I'll try to have another go at it tomorrow Okkisafire, my brain is failing, it's nearly four in morning where I am! Hillbillyholiday talk 03:45, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I tweaked it too. 7&6=thirteen () 12:04, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Been over and over the article, I think it all makes sense now - this bit puzzled me though Chen Fu Zhen Ren#The_mementos_on_from_Bao_Tang_Miao_Temple : the efforts on the winter has recovered.

Anyway, it's a very informative article Okkisafire - good work! Hillbillyholiday talk 18:33, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Halo teman.

7&6=thirteen suggested this article should be nominated for Did you know? on the main page. I think maybe the bit on the tigers not eating their grandchildren was interesting, a good "hook", if you could possibly find a reference for that (in two days), i will nominate it for you.

Harap maklum. Gunkarta  talk  07:03, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Write in your own words

edit

You are creating a lot of copyright violations in your work on Male rape. This is against our policies, but it's also illegal. You need to stop it right now, and you need to clean up the problems you have created.

A copyright violation occurs when you copy material out of a source and paste it onto the page as if you wrote it yourself. For example, in this edit, you have multiple copyright violations of this source, like this one:

What the source said What you added
According to a 2010 report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men in the United States have been raped. The actual number is likely higher, experts say, as incidents of sexual violence are severely underreported in the United States -- particularly among male victims. The actual number is likely higher, as incidents of sexual violence are severely underreported in the United States, particularly among male victims.

That is word-for-word and letter-for-letter. The only thing you changed was the punctuation in the last sentence. This is not okay.

You must significantly re-write the material. These trivial changes are not good enough:

What the source said What you added
"Males have the added burden of facing a society that doesn't believe rape can happen to them ... at all," says psychotherapist Elizabeth Donovan. Elizabeth Donovan, a psychotherapist, stated that males have the added burden of facing a society that doesn't believe rape can happen to them at all.
Trauma recovery counselor Stephanie Baird says men who experience sexual attention as children, as Brown did, often explain it to themselves as "I'm a stud, I got laid by ... They do this in order to feel as if they had some power and say," she says. Trauma recovery counselor, Stephanie Baird, says men who experience sexual attention as children often explain it to themselves as "I'm a stud, I got laid by ...". Bairds explains that they do this in order to feel as if they had some power and say.

All you did here was make trivial changes.

This is not acceptable. You need to find every instance of this inappropriate behavior and either remove the copyright violation or fix it by re-writing it entirely in your own words. Please do not add any new material until these problems have been fixed. The more illegal copyright violations you add, the harder it will be to clean it up. The community takes copyright problems very seriously. If this doesn't get cleaned up as soon as possible, then you could be blocked and the article could be deleted entirely. Buddha

Hallo, I've reverted your change because I believe that Gautama Buddha is the WP:Primary Topic of the word "Buddha", so that the redirect should point there as it has done since 2009. The material you are adding might be appropriate in the article Buddhahood, or you might want to create a new article at a title like Buddha (xxxx). Thanks. PamD 11:05, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Copying from other Wikipedias requires proper attribution

edit

It appears that you have added material to the article Tudigong using content from the Indonesian wiki. While you are welcome to re-use licensed content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying from other compatibly-licensed wikis, please at minimum mention in an edit summary at the new page where you got the content. It's also a good idea to place a {{translated}} template on the talk page of the new article. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please go back and provide attribution. Let me know if you have any questions. — Diannaa (talk) 16:01, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Tudigong

edit

Hello Okkisafire! I noticed that you have revised the article about Tudigong and started articles about other Chinese deities. Well done! However, a few advices to improve the quality of your work:

  • 1. in the Tudigong article some sources are broken (for example see the current source #3).
  • 2. Wikipedia generally uses pinyin rules, so for articles such as "Fu De Zheng Shen" it would be better to use "Fudezhengshen" (without diacritics) as the title, "Fúdézhèngshén" (with diacritics) in the introduction, and "Fudezhengshen" (without diacritics, or with diacritics) throughout the article. Note that for pinyin standards words/transliterated characters which express a concept together are joined and if the resulting word is too long it is separated along the major sub-concepts (if "Fudezhengshen" is too long, make "Fude zhengshen", better than "Fu De Zheng Shen").
  • 3. do not mix Chinese and other languages such as "Datuk Gong" in the article "Tudigong". "Datuk Gong" is Malaysian+Chinese. It would be better to keep separated the Malaysian name of the deity ("Datuk") and the Chinese name ("Nádūgōng").

Thank you and good work!--Aethelwolf Emsworth (talk) 09:58, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
