Speedy deletion nomination of Operative Professional

A tag has been placed on Operative Professional requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Your Article

Hey there. I nominated your article; Operative Professional, for speedy deletion. This is due to the fact is that it has no references whatsoever, and is written so that it is hard to tell what the subject is. If you do not include any sources, we will not be able to tell if the subject should appear on Wikipedia, or if you didn't just make up the facts yourself. Check out some of those links if you'd like to learn more about these policies. Please, include some references in your article if you do not want it to be deleted. Thank you! Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I could see what the subject was from the German Wikipedia article, & of course didn't delete it. But you will need to do considerable editing to have it clear enough for those who do not know the system of technical education in Germany. Some of it needs expansion, and some of the details need simplification--I doubt that the specifics of the courses or exam would be considered encyclopedic material here. And when you translate an article, remember to copy over the references & external links also--if if they are not really suited to the English article, they are sources. And we need some specific references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. Probably a published discussion of the IT profession from a professional society would do nicely. It does not have to be in English. The DIHK & the AIT would qualify, but we'd need something more specific than their general websites. In general, though the German WP has in general a higher standard of notability than the English, we prefer more specific referencing to specific parts of the article (in-line referencing) than seems to be the custom there.

I will start you off by some editing of my own, if I have the chance today. I hope you will follow it up tomorrow.

By the way, in both the English and German Wikipedias, according to our rules your user name is not really suitable, as it implies an official connection with the subject, so you must choose another on both. DGG ( talk ) 20:41, 19 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
