Your query to Hasteur edit

I saw your question posed to Hasteur at their talk page. Obviously, I cannot speak for Hasteur, but I know exactly what he was thinking, so I'll tell you how I would respond if I had given you that message. We've each reviewed hundreds of new article submissions, and that experience gives us a sense when a particular wording style sends up a red flag that it might be copied form somewhere else. Wikipedia takes copyrights very seriously, and it is our experience that many editors are unfamiliar with some aspects of the copyright rules applicable here. In some cases, it is an honest belief that if you find something on the internet it is OK to copy it (some think that referencing makes it OK). A more subtle issue (which may apply here,) is that some people think it is OK to use wording from some source as long as they were the original author. Surprisingly, it is not that simple. I note, for example, that some of the phrases exactly match the text in [this site]. Those words are subject to copyright, and cannot simply be used, even if written by you. If they were written by you, there is a process to allow the use, let me know if you want more information about this.

There is one other problem I need to bring to your attention. We have some rules regarding user names that aren't obvious. We do not want user names that sounds like they are associated with an organization, because it might appear that edits form these editors carry some official status. I request that you abandons the user name User:NurenbergParisHellerMcCarthy. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Username_policy for more information, or ask, and I will elaborate. I'm mildly interested in the specific case, because I know something about UM coverage, although not this specific case.--S Philbrick(Talk) 19:13, 11 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sphilbrick, thank you so much for your insight. You absolutely answered the appropriately so that I'm able to edit this article and resubmit it for re-approval. Also, thank you for the username tip! - NurenbergParisHellerMcCarthy
