License tagging for File:TWMbuilding.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:TWMbuilding.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:TWMbuilding.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk) 03:35, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means, and on Notability (organizations and companies) for more detail. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted.

Your draft

edit

Hi. I have moved your article draft into your user space at User:Nthomas7/Wikipedia Article Draft. You can work on it there until it is ready to be posted as an article: it is best not to have drafts in the article space, where they are liable to be deleted. Please read the links in the Welcome paragraph above, especially the guide to writing Your First Article. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:41, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've moved your draft again into your user space. Do not move it back to Wikipedia Article Draft. That will never be an appropriate place for it. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 03:17, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thouvenot, Wade & Moerchen, Inc.

A few points about your draft:

  • The text seems rather close to that of the company's web-site at [1]. Copyright is a sensitive issue at Wikipedia; everything contributed must be released under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation Licence, which means that anyone can copy it and use it for any purpose. There is more advice about this at WP:COPYRIGHT#Contributors' rights and obligations. How far a text must be rewritten in order not to breach copyright is a grey area, but your text seems to my (amateur) eye dangerously close to that of the web-site.
  • Another reason to rewrite is that Wikipedia requires a neutral point of view, and company websites are often written in an unsuitably promotional tone. Terms like "state-of-the-art" and "innovative technology" are frowned on as peacock terms unless they are explicitly backed up by sources, and you should in general take great care that the article does not read like an advertisement or promotion, or it may be deleted.
  • Finally, if you are connected with the company, please read the FAQ/Organizations and the guideline on Conflict of Interest; and be aware that you, and the company, will not own any article; it can and will be edited by others.

Speedy deletion of Wikipedia Article

edit

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Disputed fair use rationale for File:P1-jvdweighin.jpg}

edit

Thank you for uploading File:P1-jvdweighin.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Speedy deletion of My Wikipedia Article

edit

A tag has been placed on My Wikipedia Article requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Thanks for uploading File:Map TetonValley-Map.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Proposed deletion of Jonathan Van Dam

edit

The article Jonathan Van Dam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability is not inherited by nephews or anyone else. A professional fisherman has no more inherent notability than a professional plummer. This guy doesn't even fish for a living, he's a business student who used to work in a bait and tackle shop. Zero notability indicated.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Griseum (talk) 17:08, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
