List of churches at Grunthal, Manitoba article edit

Please stop adding the list of churches to this article as you did here. Wikipedia is not a directory, nor are we link farm. I am reverting your edit. If you feel this list needs to be on the article despite the noted guidelines above, please take the issue up on the article's talk page. If you have questions, let me know. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 15:09, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I am only trying to add what I think is valuable information to what makes Grunthal what it is. This is a place I know personally and have noticed this detail about churches on other small town pages. It was not intended as a link farm, just trying to cite that these places actually exist there and it does not fall into the category of directories that wikipadia outlines. If it would be better to remove the links I can do that. I am reverting your undo. Please stop deleting it, this is valuable information about the town of Grunthal. • @Nport: What's next? Would you like to include a list of all businesses in the town? Here's a good place to start. Where do you draw the line? This isn't what Wikipedia is for. Were are most emphatically not a directory, and including such a list with a link to each of their websites is counter purpose to Wikipedia. I know you're new here. Please understand, this isn't what we do. Also, please be aware that such lists on other town pages is not an argument for retention here. See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:35, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • After more than a week without further communication from you, I've removed the list of churches again. Per the reasons stated above, please do not restore them to the article again without getting consensus to do so on the talk page. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 02:07, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • edit warring to your preferred version, most especially when you refuse to engage in further discussion on this issue and refuse to follow Wikipedia:Dispute resolution is not the way forward. This is a collaborative working environment. We succeed by working with each other, not against each other. I waited for over a week for you to communicate with me and you did nothing. I've patiently explained why this list is not permission on Wikipedia. Despite this, and without communication, you've decided to edit war. Why? Please explain yourself. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:21, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
May I suggest a compromise? It's perfectly okay to include information about religious buildings and sites within a village article, but a bare bullet list is not particularly informative. Why not create a short paragraph describing the religious life of the village which could include mention of most or even all of the churches if it is appropriate to the context? One example is here: Poole#Religious sites. Of course, if the article were expanded with other sections, the one on churches wouldn't dominate it either. • So long as it isn't a link farm as it is now, and so long as it is supported with secondary sources, which it is completely lacking now. If it can't be supported with secondary sources, then no. --Hammersoft (talk) 11:14, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Nport, do you have any comment to make? --Hammersoft (talk) 12:31, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • It's been over a week without further response. Since such link farms are not permitted, I am once again removing this list. Nport, I appreciate your desire to improve the Grunthal, Manitoba article. We need all the help we can get on such small towns around the world. But, this isn't how we improve articles. Please do not restore this list without gaining consensus to do so. I recommend you pursue the recommendation that @Bermicourt: made above. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 15:42, 16 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
