Walt Disney World Monorails

edit

This article has some severe problems in that a lot of the more technical specifics, such as the station names (BA/CC in particular), operation of the MBS system, organizational layout of the department, internal terminology, etc., are documented only in Disney's operations manuals that are not publicly available, and the sources cited are not authoritative in the least and are often quite simply incorrect. With several years' experience in Monorail Operations as a driver and a trainer at Walt Disney World, I've attempted to make some corrections only to find they're immediately changed back to the previously incorrect state. I don't like pursuing argumentum ad verecundiam any more than anyone else, but do we want cited information, or do we want correct information?

I see the regular WDW guest who insisted that he knew more about the subject matter than those who had first-hand experience with said subject matter has gotten himself a perma-ban as a result of his combative behavior with the admins. I'm sorry it came to that, and I had no wish for that to happen, but such is life when one assumes they own a Wikipedia article, I guess. In any event, I'd prefer the disputed sections to be removed completely than to contain incorrect info. Internal designations of stations and other such minutiae isn't particularly important information anyway, but there are so few truly authoritative and citeable sources for Disney's monorail system that aren't wrapped up in a big mess of potential copyright issues that almost the entire article will need to be pulled if this is followed to its logical end. This may actually be the best way to deal with it - let those of us that are familiar with the subject set up our own sites for those that are interested in more detail, and just let Wikipedia provide a bird's-eye synopsis that is truly and completely verifiable.
