Humble Appeal To Please Reconsider and Undelete my Wikipedia Page Nonsky (talk) 21:32, 9 October 2019 (UTC) edit

Please I am kindly appealing for my deleted wikipedia page CHUKWUNONSO EZEKWUECHE to be reconsidered and undeleted. Thanks in advance.Nonsky (talk) 21:32, 9 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

The article was Chukwunonso ezekwueche. Sorry but we can't restore it, for several reasons; (1) some of the material was copied from another website, which is a violation of our copyright policy. (2) The subject of the article is not notable enough at this time to qualify for an article. See Wikipedia:Notability (people) for the relevant notability rules. (3) The article was worded like an advertisement. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:31, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much Diana for your feedback. Truly appreciated. 1)I think the editor thought since the article written on Culture Newspaper was about me it was okay to borrow a few phrases to make up my wikipedia page. I stand to be corrected. 2) The subject in question, which is I have been featured in multiple Nigerian newspapers and other news platforms (up to 15) and the articles/interviews being done solely on me. I also appear on google news when you type my name "Chukwunonso Ezekwueche". I am also a highly respected influencer and fashion contributor for a very popular online news media www.pulse.ng. Hence notability was not stated as one of the criteria for speedy deletion 3) It was not intentional for the article to sound like an advertisement. I am pleading on you to use your good office to undelete the article so the editor can reedit it in a more neutral language. Or where this is not feasible, I would you love for you as a Wiki Expert to please help me create a new article. Thanks so much DiannaaNonsky (talk) 00:46, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Question... are you (Nonsky) and Chukwunonso Ezekwueche the same person? Or does more than one person use this account? --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:36, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Drm310 Nonsky and Chukwunonso Ezekwueche are one and the same person. Nonsky is just my nickname while the latter is my full name. i am hoping you can be of help. Thanks in advanceNonsky (talk) 18:10, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your response. Please review the message at the bottom of this page regarding "writing about yourself". --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 21:32, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Drm310 Read it. Thanks. I never wrote about myself or created the wikipedia page by myself. A freelancer from freelance.com (from India) did it but he apparently he did a poor job and did not follow the guidelines. Please could you do me a huge favour and help me create a new article for me. I am notable and my name is on google news and I have like 15 articles and interviews to my name. Is there a faster way to reach you, say via email? Counting on you. Thank you so much. NonskyNonsky (talk) 21:45, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello Nonsky, I just wanted to acknowledge that I received your email. My response is the same as Diannaa's above. The author of the article, Shannu Prashar, has been blocked as a sockpuppet account. Additionally, paid editing must be properly disclosed by the author of the page. The policies and guidelines we've cited aim to make Wikipedia the best encyclopedia it can be, not to keep any specific person from having a page. Best, Airplaneman (talk) 23:03, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Airplaneman thank you so much for your input. Could you please refer me to someone that could assist me create a proper article that follows the guidelines? I believe I passed the notability criteria and I have several news published on google about me. Could you help me create an article. Here is my email charlscee@gmail.com Hoping to hear from you. Thanks a lot Nonsky (talk) 23:11, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

May I ask why it is so important for you to have a Wikipedia article? One should not think of having a Wikipedia article as a mark of pride or prestige. Because you will never have ownership or control over an article about you (if one is accepted at all), then an article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. The neutral point of view policy will ensure that both positive and negative information about you - if it's reliably sourced and written neutrally with proper balance - is fair game. Also, because anyone editing in good faith could edit the article about you at any time, the content will change over time, perhaps quite substantially. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 01:34, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@drm310: Thanks for your input. Quite appreciated. A wikipedia article is a compulsory requirement for an application I want to make. It is not necessarily to stroke my ego. If it was not that important, I would not do it. I do not mind paying a stipend to get it done by an expert like you. please reach out to me charlscee@gmail.com Thanks again dear Nonsky (talk) 01:43, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Paying someone to write a Wikipedia article is a perilous endeavour, as you have already discovered. There is no guarantee of success, so I would highly advise that you not do it and save your money.
I will point out a section of the conflict of interest guidelines, which says:

As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia's mission is to provide the public with articles that summarize accepted knowledge, written neutrally and sourced reliably. Readers expect to find neutral articles written independently of their subject, not corporate or personal webpages, or platforms for advertising and self-promotion. Articles should contain only material that complies with Wikipedia's content policies and best practices, and Wikipedians must place the interests of the encyclopedia and its readers above personal concerns.

This means you should not be using Wikipedia for self-serving purposes. What you stand to gain or lose by having or not having an article is of no concern to anyone here.
If you truly believe that you are a notable person and can point to reliable sources (online or print) to back up a credible claim of significance, then use the WP:Article wizard to start a draft article. Once you submit your draft, the reviewers will evaluate whether or not you pass the notability criteria. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:37, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nonsky, I also received your email, but I agree with everything that has been said above and don't really have anything to add. I recommend following that excellent advice that has been provided above. Canadian Paul 16:47, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nonsky, please keep your communication on your talk page and not my email, so that everyone can review it. In regards to building an article, I will repeat what Drm310 said above: before anyone can help you with your article, you need to demonstrate your notability by showing us multiple, reliable, third-party sources covering your life. A quick Google search shows only one from earlier this month, so if you want to convince the project that you should have a Wikipedia page, the first step is to show enough sources upon which one could build an article. Until that happens, we cannot offer any more help. Canadian Paul 18:18, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Canadian Paul Hi Paul, did you get a chance to see my links above? Please let me know. Happy long weekend Nonsky (talk) 14:01, 12 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

So, I see that a lot of the links that you have provided link to the same article again and again, which does not really count as "multiple sources". Based on what is here, I urge you strongly to consider the advice above and reflect on whether or not you would meet the notability guidelines for inclusion on the project at this time. Based on my experience, I think that it is very likely that even a well-crafted article would be deleted by community consensus. If you still want to proceed, however, I recommend taking Drm310's advice above and using the article wizard to create an article using the sources and the step-by-step process. Once the draft is complete, the reviewers will determine whether or not it meets the notability guidelines. Canadian Paul 22:57, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Writing about yourself edit

You are welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but it is not a social media site like Facebook or LinkedIn for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles. Writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

You can find out more about Wikipedia at the WP:Welcome page and the WP:Introduction, as well as Wikipedia's plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Thanks. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 21:33, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
