Stub Articles
editHey Nath', it's Sean. Wasn't sure if you got the stub issue sorted out in the session, so I thought I'd leave you a note here informing you what to do just-in-case. Basically, what you want to put is this; {{Wikipedia-stub}} - at the top of the article you want to be a stub. Hope that helps! --Dregan Phillips (talk) 17:52, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- Aheh, er, need to correct myself here. Apparently the {{Wikipedia-stub}} thing is actually for stubs ABOUT wikipedia. An uncategorised stub should just be noted as {{stub}} instead, though it could also be marked as one of the many types of stub on this list. Also the tag needs to go to the bottom of the page, not the top. I apologise for the mistake, my fault for not reading the stub rules and such properly. --Dregan Phillips (talk) 15:38, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Treet.TV
editHello NomNomNomNathan,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Treet.TV for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Merlinsorca 15:03, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. If Treet.TV is part of an assignment and you're able to make the article notable, you won't have to worry about the speedy deletion. Merlinsorca 17:45, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi Nathan, I'll make a few comments here because if I leave them on the article talk page and the article gets deleted, then the talk page disappears too.
- You're using "Secondlife" throughout, though http://secondlife.com/ shows it's "Second Life" (and the WP article is there).
- You should only link to Second Life once in a short article - possibly again in an infobox, or in later substantial sections of a really long article, but generally just once. See WP:OVERLINKING.
- I moved it to this title, Treet TV because there's no full stop in its title as used on its own website. Little things like punctuation and capitals are important (but in Wikipedia you can provide a Redirect from all likely alternative spellings, and moving a page automatically makes a redirect from the old title).
... in fact I see it's now been deleted while I was typing! Can't remember whether I was going to make any other comments. PamD 09:54, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi PamD, I notice you have edited the name to Treet TV whereby if you pay close attention to the site (i am using their main site treet.tv) then you will notice at the top of the page they state their name as Treet.tv as their name along with their logo and therefor it was my understanding that this was their correct name feel free to correct me on this point. On the matter of Second life you are correct on that matter i shall amend that immediately, thank you for your concern on this matter, I look forward to your responce. --NomNomNomNathan (talk) 16:57, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Nathan: I see what you mean on that page, but I think they're using their web address as a sort of logo there. (Wow, that sentence has 3 spellings of "there" etc!). If you look at http://treet.tv/about, and the "tweets" box at the right, and pretty well everywhere else on the site, they talk about themselves as Treet TV. PamD 17:29, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you
editThank you for your assistance with adding an image to my page. If you are still interested in adding the box i have on my page. Put userbox top in surrounding } - and then finish with userbottombox also in those brackets. Once again thank you Samantha2chipmunk (talk) 17:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
You are more than welcome Samantha, thank you for your assistance helping dreganphillips and myslef in the userbox creation. --NomNomNomNathan (talk) 19:32, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Treet TV
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Treet TV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ubelowme U Me 00:30, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
