November 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Sundayclose. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of common misconceptions, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 01:57, 8 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I apologize for that. I only used the same sources referenced in the articles of Donkey Kong (Character) the E.T. video game, and the Atari video game burial. While the official reason for my revoked edits are not this, I do think that if those sources are wrong, they might need to be changed in those respective articles. The most critical issue relates to the four inclusion criteria for adding an item in the article. You can see these displayed prominently if you open an edit window in the article. More specifically, your addition fails two of the criteria, the most notable of which is the second criterion: "The item is reliably sourced, both with respect to the factual contents of the item and the fact that it is a common misconception." (bold added) The sources must identify it as a common misconception, meaning widely known among the general population, not just a specific group of people. Lots of items have been added with that deficiency and have been removed. For example, in my field of work the are some misconceptions among the small group of people with my expertise, but most people have never heard of them. For that reason, it's usually best to make a suggestion on the article talk page and wait for responses. Sundayclose (talk) 20:29, 11 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm MichaelMaggs. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Gish gallop, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please add a reliable source, and also consider re-phrasing your addition as it does not fully make sense as written - maybe some words are missing? Inappropriate use of "minor edit" edit

Hi Noilaedi! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 14:54, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Most of the edits you mark as minor are not minor edits. Please carefully read WP:MINOR. Sundayclose (talk) 14:54, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
