Speedy deletion nomination of 袁弘 edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 袁弘 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Bazj (talk) 12:19, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox edit

User:Nnu-12-05090413 is for you to tell us about yourself. Please keep draft articles in pages such as User:Nnu-12-05090413/sandbox. When that article is ready, it may be moved to Yuan Hong (actor). We do not need a title in Chinese characters but we do need the interwiki links - which I have created for you - see this edit. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:49, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

A barnstar for you! edit

  The Original Barnstar
Thank you very much. Nnu-12-05090413 (talk) 15:08, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • It is considered extremely bad form to award yourself a barnstar. It occurred to me that you might be awarding it to me. I don't deserve it for the little that I have done, but if that was your intention, the barnstar should be placed on my user talk page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:30, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Use Spaces
Spaces usually come after punctuation marks.
Instead of this:
  • I like bunnies(rabbits).They are not only cute,but friendly too.
Try this:
  • I like bunnies (rabbits). They are not only cute, but friendly too.

  Protect Your Article
1. Putting lots and lots of references into your article protects it from being deleted.
2. Put references in your article like this example:
Rabbits are cute.<ref>http://www.about-rabbits.com</ref>
3. Add this to the bottom of the article:
==References==
{{reflist}}
4. Don't use Baidu.baike, Hudong, Tianya and sites that are not professionally written.
5. Write in your own words. Just the facts. Don't copy and paste.
6. Make your article style like other articles.

Yuan Hong (actor) edit

Hi I am looking at your edits. I saw User:Nnu-12-05090413/中华恐龙园. Has your class been asked to write about the dinosaur park? There is already an article at Changzhou China Dinosaur Park so if you have information to add or text to improve you can do it there. Next in Yuan Hong (actor) you wrote "graduates", but it happened in the past so "graduated" is the word. You need to add space characters around the brackets: " (" and ") ". Titles for movies and TV shows will use title case with capital letters for the major words. Also baike.baidu is not counted as a reliable source here, so please find some more references. I checked out the English names for the films and TV shows getting thse names: The Phantom Lover The Young Warriors (TV series) The Legend of the Condor Heroes Chinese Paladin 3 (TV series) A Weaver on the Horizon Startling by Each Step. I found these by looking for the Chinese names onzh.wikipedia and clicking on the en: interwikilinks. It is a good idea to use and link these names on your page. your porridge article edit

Don't worry, it's not gone, but it is now at Laba Congee, because that seems to be the most used English name. If I am wrong, let me know, and I'll move it back. I ahve a few comments:

  1. the references should be formatted and placed in the text at the relevant places. I did the first reference; the others are for you!
  2. At Laba Festival, you'll find interesting (and sometimes conflicting) information. Maybe you can use that also for your article. Also at the chinese wikipedia, maybe there is good information (remember that you can not use it as a source, but you can get ideas): here

good luck! questions? ask me at my talk page! L.tak (talk) 23:56, 1 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello there, I have some more suggestions about the Laba congee article. Where you say "cooked by red beans" do you mean cooked with red bean? (as in Red bean paste). In the history section it would be good to use past tense instead of the present. In the Legends section it would be good to write in complete sentences as the noun phrases have unclear meanings. In the second legend you say "eat them" but perhaps you mean "eat it" with the it referring to the congee. In the last legend you use "enlightenmented" but I don't think that is a word "enlightenment" or "enlightened" are both possible words though. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:47, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The sentence about Buddha still is not very clear, did the congee lead to Buddha's enlightenment. FOr the other legends I think it would be better if each sentence could stand alone supplying its own context. On Wikipedia we try to avoid abbreviations in articles. So instead of it's use it is. Abbreviations are fine on talk pages though. Where you write "Laba Porridge written by Bing Xin ", this looks like an additional reference. his should go in a section called External links and have the food note merged in. Does the eighth day of the twelfth month have a special name?

Also somehow you edited my User talk:Graeme Bartlett/archive 1 after asking on my talk page. Just use my normal talk page, as the archive1 is for really really old messages from years ago. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:29, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of 龙须面 edit

The article 龙须面 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced, and no evidence of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. On dragon beard noodles edit

Hi, I'm sorry I took so long to get back to you. Having read the article, I notice some issues:

  1. Some of your sources aren't considered reliable by Wikipedia. In general, anything that users can freely edit is not considered reliable, so Baidu Baike, Hudong Baike and yes, Wikipedia, are not acceptable sources. Sources that are generally considered reliable include newspapers (and their websites), books, articles from major magazines and such. You can use sources in Chinese, so be sure to take advantage of your university's library!
  2. You should improve the tone of your article. You have some grammatical errors, and things like "making the emperor excited" could be written more formally--"pleasing the emperor" would work in this case, for example.
  3. The Steps of making section should be written as a general description in a paragraph, instead of a list. Focus on how others have made dragon beard noodles, since we're an encyclopedia and not a cookbook. :)
  4. External links can be created by having something like
* [http://website.com/webpage.html First link]
* [http://someothersite.com/hi.html Second link]
so you don't have to do it like you have done the references. In general, do not include links unless they are directly relevant and help the reader further understand the subject. I don't think any of the ones you have provided should be included.

In addition to what I've said above, you can of course continue to expand the article using information from more sources--that is almost always a good thing to do, especially for a short article like this one.

I'm taking a break from Wikipedia soon, so if you have any questions, add a message here and someone will answer them. Good luck and happy editing. wctaiwan (talk) 06:11, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Can you do some grammer check on Startling by Each Step ? Thanks.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 03:39, 9 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Someone wrote the summary on Startling by Each Step, and it is too long and does not fit the Wikipedia's standards, not the mention it is full of grammer errors. Can you shorten it out to make it more concised? Look at another artitle A Weaver on the Horizon as the example, it is short and general in camparison to Starling by Each Step. A Weaver on the Horizon edit

Hi, can you tell me if the article I've created A Weaver on the Horizon is understandable? Also, I believe that you already awares that some people already writing summary of the television series Startling by Each Step. As much as I'm okay about it, but Wikipedia guideline said that it needs to be shorten out in order to be concised. Believe me, I had that experience, and took me some times to shorten out unneccesary details and made a concised summary on A Weaver on the Horizon. Now, we must do the same thing on Startling by Each Step, and despite my effort, it still doesn't look right. Hope you can help and please contact me if you can.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 08:30, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
