AntiSpam tool

edit

Hello, Nixeagle. I want to note you that the AntiSpam tool doesn't work anymore. When trying "google.com", it redirects me to this link. Please try fixing it, especially it is used in Commons' Special:LinkSearch.--OsamaKReply? on my talk page, please 03:12, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Requires writing a script now that the toolserver isn't using apache.  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 05:11, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not really, I just need the time to fix it. Hopefully tomorrow I will have that time. —— nixeagle 20:10, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Roux

edit

Hi Nixeagle, I'd like you to consider Roux' comments accusing me of long-term deliberate disruption and over a year, in tandem with other people, disrupting WP to get to his 'results' which I find somewhat less than civil. I had not met this user until a few days ago when we disagreed on an AN/I case. Since then, he seems to be following me around.[1][2] Thanks, Guido den Broeder (talk, visit) 01:35, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Um.. you yourself admitted to long-term disruption of the project in your report, and that other people are involved. Not really sure how facts aren't civil. I'm not following you around, you just keep cropping up all over the place. //roux   18:20, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

3RR bot suggestion

edit

Crossposting from the bot talk pages:

Could you perhaps institute some sort of feature whereby the bot warns editors (in a VERY friendly way) about potential 3RR vios? There were several today that I declined blocking because they had never been warned (redlinked talk pages), I know that the vandalism bots (ClueBot and VoABot II) do this routinely. It would help save a step... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 01:52, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not at this time because the bot does not know the difference between those that are actually editwarring and those that are just simply reverting vandalism. —— nixeagle 16:24, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Skopje Airport

Actually it's not just us guys. It was me and user:Aramgar which, for some reason I can't possibly begin to imagine, dragged in someone with whom he has a RL relationship (as stated in their user page). Seems like a pretty obvious ploy to circumvent 3RR.--Xenovatis (talk) 19:13, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you think so, report to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Regardless all parties need to stop and start discussing. —— nixeagle 19:20, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have no intention of taking it there as they don't have a nationalst agenda. My intention is to resolve this in talk, permanently.--Xenovatis (talk) 19:25, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
It is up to you, I only noticed your dispute because I'm running a bot that detects these sorts of things, and you guys triggered it. :) —— nixeagle 19:30, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your intervention. It has helped. Take care.--Xenovatis (talk) 19:32, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. For the record, I was not "dragged in" by Aramgar, nor was my participation intended to circumvent 3RR. Precisely because we know each other in real life, we are very conscious of this policy and would never collectively violate it. I stepped in because I thought an uninvolved pair of eyes might be helpful. Kafka Liz (talk) 20:00, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

That is fine, however do realize that tag team reverting is not encouraged and is just as disruptive as if only one person was doing it instead of two. Please be careful and don't test the limit. —— nixeagle 20:07, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
That is exactly what I said above. No tag teaming was intended; we were not working in concert. Neither of us has any interest in testing limits. Kafka Liz (talk) 20:13, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merry Christmas!

edit
  Merry Christmas!
Nixeagle/Archive/2009, here's hoping you're having a wonderful Christmas, and here's also hoping that all your family and friends are well. Lets all hope that the year coming will be a good one! If we've had disputes in the past, I hold no grudges, especially at such a time as this. If you don't know I am, I apologise, feel free to remove this from your page.
Come and say hi, I won't bite, I swear! It could even be good for me, you know - I'm feeling a little down at the moment with all of these snowmen giving me the cold shoulder :(

3RRbot

edit

Would it be possible to make 3RRbot link to the user's contributions in its edit summaries rather than the user's userpage? That would make it easier to check on the user from my watchlist. J.delanoygabsadds 03:08, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Very smart idea, I never really have much thought to trying to make the bot's edit summeries maximally informative. I don't have access to a computer at (Typing this on my new blackberry) the moment but I will do your change request on Monday.—— nixeagle 22:47, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced BLPs

edit

"Want me to write a script that breaks down BLPs by category? Then lists all BLPs in each category needing sources?" Yes, yes, yes, thank you. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 07:23, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The database report and the underlying script. Currently uses MySQL to create two temporary tables and then JOINs them. Would be much simpler (and faster) to output both lists to a store_file or whatever and run them through an intersection tool written in a proper scripting language.... --MZMcBride (talk) 07:27, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Someone already tried adding the NOINDEX tag to the page, but all changes not programmed into the script are automatically wiped out by the bot's next edit. —David Levy 04:53/05:20, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
