Welcome! edit

Hello, Nirvanaisbae, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page George Harrison did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask a question on your talk page. Again, welcome.  dmartin969   23:57, 3 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

October 2018 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Yoko Ono, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Hrodvarsson (talk) 01:47, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on George Harrison. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. MarnetteD|Talk 15:34, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

October 2018 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at John Lennon. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Echoedmyron (talk) 01:09, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for October 22 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Paul McCartney, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page British (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:33, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

An extended welcome edit

Hi Nirvanaisbae. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Ronz (talk) 16:27, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Anthony Bourdain edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory or otherwise controversial content into an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Anthony Bourdain. --Ronz (talk) 17:29, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Spelling edit

Hi. You have twice changed the correct UK spelling of a word. This is the second. Another editor did make it clear. Do please be aware of spelling variants, particularly when they have already been explained. Thanks.NEDOCHAN (talk) 13:42, 14 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Protection requests edit

Greetings - please stop placing edit requests on talk pages asking for the pages to be protected. In the first place, that's not the proper way to make that request - if you want to ask that a page be protected, the request is made at WP:RFPP. However, none of the pages you've tagged can be protected at this point. Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that everyone can edit. By definition, every article can be vandalized at any time. There are a great many editors on Wikipedia dedicated to monitoring the encyclopedia for vandalism at all times and removing it as quickly as possible. Pages aren't protected unless they have already seen ongoing, repeated vandalism from multiple editors. Preventive protection is almost never done. Please let me know if you have questions about this! ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 14:56, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cause of death edit

Hi there! Could you please have a read through the documentation for Template:Infobox person? It explains when it is and isn't appropriate to include cause of death in the template. As it notes, routine illnesses should generally not be included there. You can include them and the sources in the article body. Nikkimaria (talk) 01:34, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2019 election voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:24, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Notice of sockpuppetry block edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:The Ultimate Boss per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/The Ultimate Boss.
