Nineteen Nightmares (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I have been blocked for edit warring with three other users, GregJackP, Dmartinaus (now "Austex") and Minor4th. Admin Sarah blocked me because I believe she did not read a post of mine where I stated I would have nothing more to do with these users. I have not in fact logged into the site for several days and only found out today about the block. Please understand I do not want to imply Sarah is not an excellent admin, simply that she read one post, acted and probably missed the other one. Her reason for blocking me was to stop the interaction between the aforementioned three and myself, but there has been no contact, and will be none on my end, for at least a week. I also believe that her reason is faulty as the statement "I will not shut up..." does not mean I will continue to engage these editors, simply that I would alert an admin or post something on a talk page if I found something out of sync. Thanks for reviewing the case. Nineteen Nightmares (talk) 21:23, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Nineteen NightmaresReply

Decline reason:

When you return, the clarifications requested below would be helpful. Thanks. Kuru (talk) 16:02, 21 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Blocked edit

Nighteen Nightmares, I have blocked your account. I regret having to do this but I came upon your comment here where you make it perfectly clear that you have no intention of leaving the other users alone and this seems to be the only way to put an end to this disruption. I would very much like to unblock you but I will only do so with an agreement to leave the other users alone. This on-going disruption needs to stop immediately and since you've refused to consent to the interaction ban on ANI, this seems the only way forward. You state on Salvio's mentorship page: "I don't intend to shut up when they are breaking Wikipedia policy and seem to have no regard for the site or its rules", well you're breaking the rules, too, by making these personal attacks and uncivil comments and acting like you're the WikiPolice. It needs to stop either by you agreeing to move on and leave them alone or by us taking the choice out of your hands and deciding for you. Please take some time to think about this. Should you decide to agree to leave them alone, you can be unblocked straight away. Sarah 03:59, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have responded on your talk page. Why did you delete my User page? Nineteen Nightmares (talk) 16:41, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Nineteen NightmaresReply
Also, what happened to the ANI discussion about me that Martin started? I can't find it and it isn't on the ANI page anymore. Nineteen Nightmares (talk) 16:58, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Nineteen NightmaresReply
It was archived; you can find it here. Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 17:28, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you will check the ANI posting you will see that it was not instigated or filed by me. You have said this several times and it is not accurate.AustexTalk 18:42, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Here is the actual posting language: A section has been opened at AN/I here - please add any other comments at that location.
The above information was posted to this space by Austex, not by me - I do not want to have anything to do with this, and just want both parties to leave me alone. If an admin sees fit to unblock 19N, I don't have a problem with that as long as he leaves me alone. GregJackP Boomer! 19:17, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notified the blocking admin edit

I left a note at User talk:Sarah#User:Nineteen Nightmares requesting unblock. NN placed their unblock request on 17 July. Sarah has not edited since 12 July, and it's possible that some other admin may decide to deal with this request in her absence. I do not find that NN's request (above) meets the conditions stated by Sarah for an unblock:"The block is indefinite but if he agrees to leave the other users alone, he can be unblocked." Perhaps NN might wish to be more specific as to how they promise to avoid the other users. EdJohnston (talk) 03:54, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Concur. I see "but there has been no contact, and will be none on my end, for at least a week" which could imply that after a week the behavior will resume. A clarification would help; can you expand on the above request? Kuru (talk) 16:14, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
This is exactly why I no longer volunteer to edit here. If you read the first sentence, you will see I intend no further contact with certain individuals, but that part was ignored. I can't tell you how many times I would explain myself here only to have certain statements completely ignored, while others that could be construed as negative are highlighted and used in an aggressive and malicious manner against me. It is a miracle anyone with any common sense or self respect would put up with the passive aggressive nature of many of the editors here at all. How anything gets accomplished is beyond my undertstanding, that much is for certain. Block me, unblock me, it doesn't matter. Editing here is like working for the CIA. You never know when you will get the knife in the back, and for the most meaningless of reasons on the surface, hiding ulterior motives. I have been a fan of Wiki and continue to read, but my time is too valuable to put up with this type of nonsense. If supes would have actually taken the time to review the case thoroughly, he or she would see that dmartinaus (now Austex) was gaming the site by adding his own business information to an article on the city of Austin, as well as his own BLP which he saved from its first AfD by creating half a dozen socks and voting 'keep,' and I was screaming from the rooftops about it. This guy is still on Wiki, a convicted sock, but because I made a stink so people would see what's going on, I'm banned. Real smooth. One more time, 19NN is going at it all over again rehashing the same continuing complaint/attack/excuse as used above. If and when he is unblocked I want to be assured he will LEAVE ME ALONE, and I will do the same for him. The above comments are among the reasons he was banned in the first place. There's a rather famous adage that goes what the eye doesn't see the heart doesn't grieve over. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 15:38, 7 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Amen. An apt adage. Thanks for the reminder.AustexTalk !

Regarding your email edit

Nineteen Nightmares, I received your email. I am very busy with other things and have not been on Wikipedia for 6 weeks. You said that you thought I was a fair person, but now aren't so sure and that the block doesn't make sense to you. I'm sorry you don't understand why you were blocked and that's really a reason you shouldn't be unblocked yet - if you don't understand the block then you can't rectify the issues that resulted in the block. I am also sorry that you don't think I have been fair to you. In fact, I feel that I have been more than fair. I tried very hard to help you as much as I could but I felt you left me with no other option but to block you. And you could have been unblocked straight away - whether you were blocked for one hour, one year or forever was always entirely up to you and you alone. Yes, you did say that you would stay away from the others. However, you then made various comments that indicated that you intended to continue following them around and monitoring them and you also did not respond to or address any of the agreement proposals. So I felt I had no other option but to block you. If I hadn't blocked you, I wouldn't have been being fair to the community - "being fair" here doesn't mean giving you a free pass or turning a blind eye to what you do - it means trying to do the right thing for the community and trying apply policies fairly and evenly. Had I not blocked you when I did, I sincerely feel that I wouldn't have been acting fairly. Please understand that the block is against you personally and not this account. So you cannot use other accounts or edit as an IP. If you decide you want to edit here, please request an unblock of this account. You also complained that I haven't unblocked you. As I said, I haven't been here for 6 weeks. In fact, I haven't been here since the day I blocked you so I haven't had the opportunity to unblock you even if I'd wanted to. However, I will not unblock you myself while I am busy off-site because I won't be around to keep an eye on what happens and deal with any consequences of an unblock. But any admin can unblock you if they feel you've given a credible undertaking to stay away from the others. You also complained in your email that you can't speak to your mentor because of the block, but you can do so if you want to. You could send Salvio an email (you sent one to me so you're obviously able to send emails). Alternatively, you can communicate with him on this page. I do hope that you decide to return because I still believe that you could become a very good and valued contributor here if you could just come to abide by the Civility rules. Finally, you asked in a previous message why I deleted your userpage - I didn't delete it. If you look at the history of your userpage, you'll see that another editor replaced it with a blocked notice but it is still there under the notice and if you decide to return, you will be able to restore it yourself. Just a friendly note: I drop by from time to time and take a look at your talk page; but you can also contact me by mail, if you wish. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 17:55, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
