Welcome edit

Hello Nilington, welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance. If you ever get bored, or don't know how to help, visit the ToDo List at Community Portal. There are millions of jobs to be done, article to be improved, written, deleted, images added or edited, and groups/clubs to join!

If you have any questions, or just want a chat, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing. —Vanderdeckenξφ 18:27, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Niland Brothers edit

I just wanted to thank you for getting the pictures at the American Cemetery for the Niland Brothers article. I hope you don't mind that I made them a bit smaller so that they don't completely take over the screen. Keep up the good work! Joshdboz 20:38, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cemetery FPC edit

Hullo, Nilington. I just wanted to thank you for the great FPC picture. I'd also like to (since no one else has done it) Welcome you to Wikipedia! See my notice at the top of the page. Have fun! —Vanderdeckenξφ 18:27, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Train_into_Arosa.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Train_into_Arosa.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:41, 10 November 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 04:41, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: File:American Flag and Cross in Normandy.jpg edit

File:American Flag and Cross in Normandy.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:American Flag and Cross in Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:American Flag and Cross in Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 12:21, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Jackson joe.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Jackson joe.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Notification of automated file description generation edit

Your upload of File:Capitol Dome from Southeast.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
