Nikita, I'm going to remove your additions to Aishwarya Rai. You can't just put your personal opinions in an article. Other people may have other opinions. Who's to say which opinions are the best?

If you want to make a section on "criticisms of Ash's acting" and fill it full of QUOTES from prominent critics, establishing that critics think she can't act, that would be OK, as that be real information. Zora 16:45, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It really is OK to criticize Ash edit

You did just fine at leaving a message on my talk page. However, you can sign it by putting four tildes at the end, like this: ~~~~.

There's nothing wrong with criticizing Ash. I think she's vacuous myself, though she can dance well. I thought that when she and Madhuri appeared side by side in Devdas, Madhuri eclipsed her totally.

However, neither you or I should put our personal opinion in the article. All we can do is summarize what other people have thought and published, notable people. Notable people would be, say, reviewers at Rediff, or major Indian newspapers, or perhaps a review article in the Guardian, in the UK. That sort of thing. Then we don't have to state it as a fact that "Ash can't act." That's controversial; some people might disagree. However, if we say, "Critic X said Ash had all the expressive range of a soccer ball," then we are just reporting, and not taking sides. Even the fans would have to agree that yes, Critic X said that.

If you go to the Community Portal (look at the left of the screen) you'll find lots of pages on how to write articles. It's great that you care about getting it right, and those pages will help.

If you haven't already, join the Indian Cinema wikiproject. There are long lists of articles that need to be written, or rewritten. We especially need people working on the older films and actors. It's easy to write about current hot actors and films, but more useful, perhaps, make sure the the wonderful movies of the past aren't forgotten. Zora 09:59, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Seniority edit

Hello, Nikitajoshi, welcome to Wikipedia. About your request on the Baabul page. There have been repeated discussions in the past on how to list cast members and some Wikipedians have been very vocal about listing them according to seniority. Since "seniority" is a very vague thing and everyone seems to have a different idea about it, I suggest to credit actors according to IMDb - that's the easiest and most neutral thing, if you ask me. Best regards, --Plumcouch 10:29, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject edit

Niki, the shortcut to the Indian cinema wikiproject is WP:INCINE Just click on that, or type that into the search box, and you'll be at the project. Sorry, I should have told you earlier. Sign up on the main page and then go to the talk page for discussion. Sometimes people introduce themselves, though that's not really necessary. Zora 11:22, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

WP:FILMS Questionnaire edit

As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!
