Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Design icon. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. {{adminhelp}} I am so lost, Teapot George. Thank you for writing this. I keep trying to edit my page based on the feedback from Wikipedia and it isn't saving my changes. The removal of the references template was a mistake.

I'm going to go ahead and assume you were using the helpme template to try to get Teapotgeorge's attention. If you want to communicate with him, please post on his talk page. If you have a question for an administrator, feel free to post it here and restore the template. GorillaWarfare talk 23:34, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Design icon

edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Design icon, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Design icon and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:09, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Status and Advice

edit

As reviewing admin, I thought the article could be made less promotional, so I edited it rather drastically it instead of deleting it, and moved it to Deign Icon award, and deleted the redirect from Design icon, in order to ensure that people looking for this rather generic term of praise wouldn't be directed to this particular award. Whether the award is notable is another matter, and that's for AfD. Additional references to the award from general sources would help. DGG ( talk ) 17:22, 19 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Nicoleatkinson/new article name here

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Nicoleatkinson/new article name here, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
