Hello, NickRaihala, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

W. Eugene Smith

edit

Hello! Thanks for expanding W. Eugene Smith. However, the prose needs some work to attain a more formal, encyclopedic tone: Wikipedia articles should strive to avoid euphemisms and subjective, flowery, emotionally-laden language. Phrases like "Smith's morals and values where carved into stone. Salt was thrown into the wounds... " say rather little factually (no stones or salt are actually involved). See WP:FORMAL and WP:IMPARTIAL for additional guidelines, as well as Manual of Style/Words to watch, especially Expressions that lack precision. Lastly: some technical points, the subject should generally be referred to by surname after first mention to maintain a formal tone, and inline citations are generally placed after punctuation marks. If you have any questions on editing, the Teahouse is a good place to ask. Cheers, and happy editing. --Animalparty! (talk) 00:58, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
