GA nomination
editHi, I see you have nominated Small heath (butterfly) although you have not edited that article. Leaving aside the courtesy of asking those who have edited it substantially if they would be happy for someone else to take up the reins on their behalf, you should be aware that to pass GA you need both knowledge of the sources used (and access to them on occasion) and the time and intention to answer what can be a substantial volume of comments from the GA reviewer. If you don't have these, reviewers may themselves invest substantial effort in analysing the article, only to find that the nominator is unavailable. If you're willing and able to go ahead, all well and good; if not, now would be a good moment to withdraw. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 12:58, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for warning me about this. I worked very closely with the person who wrote the article, but did not do the research or writing myself. We were under the impression that somebody other than the writer would need to nominate it. As this is not the case, I've since made them aware that they should nominate it themselves. Would the best way to do this be for me to retract my nomination, and then for them to renominate it themselves? Thanks again, Nicholas Fry (talk) 18:32, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
