You're welcome for the userpage award nom. I noticed I've never given you a barnstar, so here goes:

The Compartment description edit

Firstly I am a fan of Indian Railways.

I think we need a section/page on Types of coaches used in passenger trains, what I added was a starting point and expected more informed people like you to take it up instead of bringing it down.

Also I added few unfilled sections like 'Modernization' and few subsections like 'Passenger safety', 'Station cleanliness', 'Coach cleanliness'.

I would request you to fill such sections (may be start a new page) and put this info on Wikipedia for others to read.

I wish Wikipedia to become one stop source for most the info thus we IR page should have info on upcoming projects (e.g. new freight corridor) /special trains (Garib Rath, tourist trains etc) shortfalls /pitfalls, info calculation rules of FINE imposition (why not as this is faced by several railway passengers) etc etc.

I sincerely believe that in future sites like this will be used by respective authorities (here IR authorities) as well to understand end user in better ways and serve them better and frankly design of IR coaches desires a lot of improvement/customization, platform/coach cleanliness is again a big concern area. So pls help in putting more information.

Hi, don't see you much! edit

Hi! We do not see you around much now-a-days. Two articles from Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cities are in FAC. Ahmedabad and Darjeeling. I have modified the project page accordingly to have a section on articles currently in FAC (more city articles are to be in FAC shortly, including Kochi). You may find some striking similarity between Darjeeling and Kalimpong!! (direct copying from the latter in certain instances). Anyway, hope you are well and kicking. How true! It is now 2006. Maybe my arrivial on wikipedia was foreseen (supremely bored wiki-progeny.. ha ha). - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 19:43, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image for IST edit

File:Mumbaicoord.jpg

Hello. I was thinking about possible images for the article. I found this one. This photo was taken by me when I had visited England. There is a line at Greenwich Prime Meridian. [1]. On both the sides of the line, co-ordinates of major cities in the world are mentioned. This is the close-up of the part of the line mentioning Mumbai's co-ordinates. It may help in the article. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 05:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The cropped image really looks nice. That was the fastest expansion->PR->FAC I have ever seen. Great work. I was expecting Ahmedabad to be made FA today, but was disappointed. Guess I will have to wait for a few more days. It has been 2 weeks since I submitted it. IST makes it the 4th Indian article at FAC at the moment. There are a lot of good Indian articles at PR too. They are waiting for your comments. Also, I just scanned that image in case you couldn't add anything else. Do you have any suggestions for the image. If not then you can go ahead and delete it. I don't mind. I have it on my comp and will upload it later if required. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 19:11, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

2 embedded comments edit

Have some problems with 2 embedded comments in darjeeling. First one is in the sentence desceribing the Darjeeling disaster. You've asked "resulting in"? Do you mean future impact of the devastations of the eartquake? If you mean immediate effect of the quake, that has been described (which is quite obvious!)

The second embedded comment (another "resulting in?") is more troublesome! What was the effect of revolutionaries attempting to kill the governor. In fact, no reference could be found stating any particular steps the govt took folloeing the assassination attempt. The sentence was used to exemplify the singlemost mentionable factoid of the independence movenment in the town, However, after receiving your comment, it seems the fact is rather unimportant in the history of the city. We can remove the fact, unless you tell to do something else. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:26, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edit on the Mumbai page edit

You recently made an edit on the Mumbai section, that edited out (removed) a link to our site - http://mumbai.burrp.com. We are a local startup that has listings of thousands of restaurants, bars, clubs and cafes in Mumbai. We have a very active community of people, who regularly contribute their reviews to the site.

We thought it would be useful to have a link to our site, as people can find eateries and hangouts rated and reviewed by the locals.

We encourage you to visit our site and check out its utility yourself. The url is http://mumbai.burrp.com/

Thanks, Anand Jain Burrp! India

The external links section is meant to be a resource for sites which contain useful encyclopedic content on the history, geography, economy and culture of the city. Blogs, forums, portals etc are strongly discouraged. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 07:42, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

IST edit

Hi Nichalp,

Hope you have seen my contribs to the IST article. Please see whether any awkward phrases have been introduced in the edits made by me. Incidently, this is the smallest article I have ever supported in the FAC. For things like standards, there aren't much changes and news, so only things that needs to be discussed is history and controversies, which this article did. — Ambuj Saxena (talk) 10:35, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

But why was IST removed from FAC so soon??? It should have been there for a longer time. Please consider re-starting the FAC.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:47, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nepal edit

Hi Nichalp! The Nepal article is in dire need of attention. In its present condition, the article falls short of the standards required for a featured article. The lead section of the article consists of just one line, while it should aptly contain two-three paragraphs per WP:LEAD. The factual accuray of the article too has been questioned, and hasnt been addressed as of yet. Certain sections have also been tagged for cleanup. The article also lacks a proper referencing standard. Since you were actively involved in this article, could you devote some time to it now, or it might soon land up in FARC. Thanks!-- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK06:52, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help needed edit

Hi Nichalp,

A minor help request. In the talk page of the IIT article, it is pointed out that the data source for the pie chart is out-dated. New data is also provided. Can you please update the pie-chart image according to the latest data. I tried it on inkscape, but couldn't get how to go about it.

Also, whenever you have time, can you please review IIT Kharagpur article, specifically with regards to duplicated data and missing (required) info. I had to add a lot of info to the article from the IIT article itself because everything is common. I was wondering if some of it can be omitted with just a see also link.
