I've noticed your recent contributions and I'd like to offer some perspective. While Wikipedia has a multitude of experienced editors, it doesn't necessarily mean they are infallible. That said, the likelihood of them collectively acting in bad faith to hinder the dissemination of knowledge is quite minimal.
I understand your perspective on the Precognition topic, especially regarding the citation of Bem's papers. However, there are several editorial policies on Wikipedia that guide such decisions. The intricacies of these policies and their influence on content can be complex, especially for those who are new to the platform.
As a newcomer, you might find it challenging to navigate these policies without a deeper understanding of how Wikipedia operates. Therefore, I'd suggest starting with editing some uncontroversial articles. This will give you a hands-on experience of Wikipedia's workings and its community dynamics. Once you're more familiar with the platform and its guidelines, you'll be in a better position to engage in more contentious topics.
Lastly, I'd like to introduce you to a principle that might be of interest: WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS. Introduction to contentious topics edit
You have recently edited a page related to pseudoscience and fringe science, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations.
