Billy Connolly

What is the point in the editing war? Yes he's Scottish, but his nationality is British. Now i've read your page and understand your living in the U.S, but I live in the U.K and as far as I know, Scotland isn't an independent country yet, there are no Scottish passports and nationality of all Scottish people is British, defined by law. Now stop editing this page because your simply making a fool out of yourself in respect to the particular area your editing.

Wikipedia should be accurate, even if you don't like the truth. Articles should be non bias, when clearly you making this article back to Scottish as nationality constantly is being bias.

Surely someone of your status on here would understand that? And if we're going to go into personal opinions here, which should have no relevance at all on the article, Billy would much prefer to be called Scottish and British. You may be Scottish but you are not at all a friend or family of his and therefor you certainty don't know his views, and againdefinitely don't have the right to edit this page based on YOUR opinion.

Many Thanks Levi.WhittenConnolly 00:25, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Template:Sports portal browsebar ... or :

Hi Dudesleeper. I saw you edit to {{Sports portal browsebar}}. Would you mind if I change the ". . ." to a ":"? This would make the browsebar consistent with the categories box at the bottom of the page and other lists e.g. the archive list at the top of this page. -- PatLeahy (talk) 16:48, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Dick Neal Sr.

Hi - I have recently created an article on Dick Neal Sr. who played for Blackpool at the start of his career from 1925 to 1931. Can you expand the paragraph relating to his Blackpool career. Cheers. --Daemonic Kangaroo 17:26, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Revision history of Allison Cameron (House)

yeah, maybe you were right, it was quite possibly a good faith edit, i just had my first vandalism removal session, and may have gone overboard with that one.oops and sorry Sennen goroshi 17:07, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

stop!

Ive read all over the discussion forums, you are a complete little shite. Stop vandalising articles Nottingham Forest and deleting good, solid information such as Kieron DyerandJoe Anyon This is your last soft warning before I start telling admins about your vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cf38 (talkcontribs) 14:39, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

joe anyon

You have been warned. stop editing the Joe anyon page or you will be blocked from editing that page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cf38 (talkcontribs) 11:14, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

port vale

please stop editing the Joe Anyon page, because if you check your information is wrong. He did'nt pull both of his achilles tendons, he ruptured his right one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cf38 (talkcontribs) 08:54, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

you

you are pathetic. Every Article I write or edit you delete. You are just a loser (blackpool? ha!) who spends all day deleting articles. dont believe me? Ask the admins. Ive spoken to them and they want to ban you. Stop or be banned again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cf38 (talkcontribs) 08:54, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

You

This is the only warning you will receive. Your recent vandalism will not be tolerated. Although vandalizing articles on occasions that are days or weeks apart from each other sometimes prevents editors from being blocked, your continued vandalism constitutes a long term pattern of abuse. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

I am abeseloutly sick of you. You are a persistent little crap. You delete every article I write, you annoy people and you delete WHOLE FU*£"% SECTIONS ON ARTICLES! I have spoken to admins and they say i should use a persistent vandalism template (wpc:4)

I was told one more time you WILL be banned. Cf38 18:40, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:King of the Road Proclaimers.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:King of the Road Proclaimers.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:57, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Mediation (dispute)

Please sign the page so I can actually write on articles without you deleting everything I write!

Seriously though, no offence but I support Port Vale, and I was at the match when Goodlad got injured and Anyon made his debut, so I think I know a little more than you on these articles. Cf38 19:00, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Just for clarity's sake, which bit am I not supposed to take offence to — the "persistent little crap" or "complete little shite"? - Dudesleeper · Talk 12:51, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey, this user has asked for my help, over a dispute you two are having. Now looking over the article, it seems that the problem, is with uncited POV statements in Joe Anyon. I can understand why you're reverting them, but the user seems quite young. Have you tried explaining to him in detail the problems? How to cite sources properly, problems with describing an individual as the "best X" or "greatest Y" or whatever without attribution? There doesn't seem to be any glaring WP:BLP violations so it might at this stage, be best simply to ask for page protection, and encourage him to bring the matter up on the talk page. Cheers.  – ornis 12:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough I guess, I've left a similar suggestion on his talk page. Have you considered asking for page protection? It might encourage him to use the talk page.  – ornis 12:50, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps. Even so, it can't hurt to try.  – ornis 13:07, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Sue Randall

Hey, amigo, This article as written is not heavily sourced. Please stop trolling and deleting information that is true with even contacting the writer. I put a source in, since you deleted the previous version. Please stop trolling and start making some positive, original contributions of substance. Rosspz 16:33, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Rosspz

Replied here.
Response to your post on my talk page--
Wow, amigo, then I wonder why you didn't use footnotes in your original entry and why you made inaccurate statements of fact, for instance, Randall appeared in 29 episodes, not 14 as you stated. So maybe I should say this--Stop trolling and start making substantive, accurate contributions on this site. Rosspz 20:53, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Rosspz
Replied here.

Yeah, Since you've got these articles tabbed, why didn't you update the episode number yourself; why did I have to check it out and update it. Rosspz 16:33, 15 October 2007 (UTC)rosspz

Thanks

Thank you for the congrats :). --Angelo 21:57, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Maine Meetup?

Greetings! My name is Garrett Fitzgerald, and I've lived in Brewer for the past year. I just thought I'd check in with the rest of the Maine Wikipedians to see if there was enough interest to start organizing a Wikipedia:Meetup somewhere in the state. If you're interested, drop me a note by email or userpage: if there's enough interest, I'll see about organizing a bit more formally. See you around!--SarekOfVulcan 07:06, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Categories

Thanks for fixing the cat on Danny Blair, although i am sceptical as to whether they should both be there. My understanding was that as Category:Scotland international footballers is a subcategory of Category:Scottish footballers, that only the subcategory should be included on the page. Looking at Wikipedia:Categorization and subcategories, it sort of backs me up. My reasoning is thus: By definition, Scottish international footballers will be "Scottish footballers." Therefore it only needs one category. As long as an explanation is given in the category description, no problem. What do you think? Woodym555 17:50, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Portland, Maine

Duedsleeper, why do you keep deleting links?

MENSK is a non profit with lots of relevant info for the city of Portland. As is Portland Buy Local! And Food in Portland contains valuable restaurant reviews not found anywhere else.

Please stop vandalizing my posts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.198.87.25 (talk) 19:34, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Dudesleeper, you need to read the page on Good Faith:

To assume good faith is a fundamental principle on Wikipedia. In allowing anyone to edit, we work from an assumption that most people are trying to help the project, not hurt it. If this were not true, a project like Wikipedia would be doomed from the beginning. When you can reasonably assume that a mistake someone made was a well-intentioned attempt to further the goals of the project, correct it without criticizing. When you disagree with people, remember that they probably believe that they are helping the project.

Consider using talk pages to clearly explain yourself, and give others the opportunity to do the same. Consider whether a dispute stems from different perspectives and look for ways to reach consensus if possible. This can avoid misunderstandings and prevent problems from escalating.

Good faith is obviously not bad faith. Bad faith editing can include deliberate disruption just to prove a point, playing games with policies, and vandalism. Even if good faith is in doubt, assume good faith where you can, be careful to remain civil yourself, and if necessary follow dispute resolution processes rather than edit warring or attacking other editors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.198.87.25 (talk) 19:45, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
