How you can help

Hi NewRunningShoes--you don't have email enabled, so I have to post here, and I have to be somewhat cryptic so I won't betray any confidences. One of our longterm disruptive editors, a POV pusher, has created a ton of accounts, and it seems that at least a few of those accounts edited from the same ranges that your class is operating from. It's for that reason that I am not dropping a hard block on the range, which would mean that your students wouldn't be able to edit, but I am going to block the range from anonymous editing. Since your students would have registered accounts that shouldn't be a hardship, but please note that I am blocking account creation. If you have a latecomer to the course, someone who needs to create an account, User:Helaine (Wiki Ed) and User:Brianda (Wiki Ed) can help you navigate this, I'm sure. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 15:42, 24 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Drmies, Thanks for flagging this and for adding that block. We can definitely assist @NewRunningShoes and the students with account creation if needed. To clarify @Drmies, by 'your' do you mean 'our'"? Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:33, 24 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Drmies (talk) 01:04, 25 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
