Dr Nusbacher edit

Dear NetNus, I have no particular axe to grind here and I think I am missing something. What is the issue with Lynette Nusbacher's previous name being mentioned near the top. My understanding is many of us knew Dr Nusbacher as Aryeh via the TV shows and it is under this name that there is sufficient WP notability. Is this best on the article talk page or here? Best wishes (Msrasnw (talk) 15:14, 9 November 2011 (UTC))Reply

While your intentions are pure, the "formerly" or incorrect "born" promotes the previous name to unwarranted importance and promotes the subject's medical history above all else. [1] NetNus (talk) 15:54, 9 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ok - sorry and best wishes and I have no intention of promoting any of the subject's medical history. I only got involved with this when it was up for deletion as while ago and thought it was nice to save the page on someone who seemed to me clearly notable via all their appearances on the TV and being watched by millions. December 2012 edit

Hello, NetNus. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Lynette Nusbacher, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --> Belchfire-TALK 00:57, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Lynette Nusbacher, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dr. Nusbacher, please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's house style for biographical articles and limitations on editing by those with a conflict of interest.Belchfire-TALK 19:18, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Useful Comments edit

No problem. Especially in regards to your latest response on the talk page, I can certainly know where you're coming from with personal experience. A response there summed it up well: don't read too much into the article right now, because right now it's pretty borked in between limited sources and way too many ravenous editors. I do not see this becoming some kind of a nightmare article, but at the moment there's a whooole lotta people getting waved in from multiple places (notice boards, people's talk pages, etc etc) and it's pretty hard to get anything decided on, let alone keep the article edited into any kind of reasonable form. It shall calm down shortly.Human.v2.0 (talk) 22:11, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

A deletion discussion edit

FYI, a discussion has begun related to Lynette Nusbacher. see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lynette Nusbacher (2nd nomination). People who have a conflict of interest are generally discouraged from actively !voting in such discussions, but it is something I thought you should be aware of. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 03:31, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

While in general, a person with a COI should not participate in an AfD, a person has made some comments about your actions and intentions for which it would be unconscionable for them to be left on the table without you being able to address them. In the spirit of WP:IAR, if you feel you need to respond to those statements, you have my backing. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:07, 11 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
