Re: Li hing mui edit

FYI.. I did get a few shots of Li hing mui, but my depth of field was off and it was too blurry. It was a tough shot as I had the wrong lens on the camera. I'll give it another go soon enough. I think you're going to like what I'm planning; I've got some good ideas. Viriditas (talk) 12:29, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Burial-Mounds-at-GyeongJu.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Burial-Mounds-at-GyeongJu.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jay32183 (talk) 22:22, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: File:Kroner-2-5.jpg edit

File:Kroner-2-5.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Kroner-2-5.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Kroner-2-5.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. Lily Kwan edit

It's not that I have a problem with nudity. I simply didn't know that we had a cropped version of the same image of Lily Kwan which only showed Kwan's face. Also, it's been a long standing practice to not use a nude image unless it's immediately relevant to the article e.g. breast or penis. Dismas|(talk) 13:45, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

No worries! And I personally agree irrelevant nudity offers nothing to an article. However, just as a note of friendly reproach, all it took was a quick glance at the history to see the image that was previously used. I have no connection to the subject, I just try to make it a habit to check the history in such cases. Anyway, keep on keeping it real as they say, Nesnad (talk) 14:53, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Aikawanase-red-cover-andcd.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Aikawanase-red-cover-andcd.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:11, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Are you planning on adding to the list of JSL yubimoji pics? I could fish around the web for free versions that already exist of the ones remaining to be added, but I thought having the whole set be uniform would be best. Ukigusa/Ukikusa edit

I am happy to defer to what I presume is your specialized knowledge, but I was going by the fact that every other reference source out there has Ukigusa (which fits with my understanding of how Japanese intermorphemic voicing works); I would suggest you add a footnote explaining why this is the correct form to avoid similar (mis?)corrections in future. Languagehat (talk) 16:13, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

But a quick look in a dictionary or the Japanese Wikipedia reveals Ukikusa, not sure why anyone would change it? I am curious what is driving the change and misunderstanding? Could you elaborate on your linguistic hunch that made you make the change? Evan Wikipedia's page on "Japanese intermorphemic voicing" (I thought you meant Rendaku) seems to support my opinion... but now I am starting to doubt myself, am I (and Japanese Wiki, etc) reading it wrong? Hmm. After all the "Rendaku" page says, "Rendaku is common but unpredictable." When I have time I will ask some other speakers of the language, and see what the average reading turns out to be. Nesnad (talk) 17:31, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't know what you mean by "a quick look in a dictionary or the Japanese Wikipedia reveals Ukikusa"; Japanese uses kanji, which do not reveal pronunciation (which is, as you say, unpredictable). For the voicing, compare Tsurezuregusa for 徒然草, where the last character is of course kusa by itself. I'm glad you're going to ask some speakers; I'm always happy to be proven wrong (because that way I learn something), but (like you) I want Wikipedia to be as accurate as possible. Thanks for taking our exchange so well! Languagehat (talk) 19:51, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I suppose I should be careful Wikipedia-ing while drinking, that makes my explanations less clear than needed... but it feels like you do not understand Japanese Wikipedia. It provided the reading of most kanji names (as it does in this case, but not all cases) and you would know that if you ever ventured forth. In any case, if you read the English rendaku page it might make it clear why this word is not voiced in ukikusa and as voiced in tsurezuregusa (a different word!)... maybe you are under the impression that all words when combined become voiced? No. I humbly agree I, and Japanese Wiki, might be wrong--- it wouldn't be the first time for either of us. I need sleep and less alcohol to confirm for absolute certainty I am right, though. In any case, best of luck, cheers, 20:16, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
It's true I don't use Japanese Wikipedia. Of course I know tsurezuregusa is a different word, it was just an analogy, and of course I know all words do not become voiced in combination (I thought that was clear from what I wrote); as I say, I was going by the fact that other reference sources give "Ukigusa." It is strange, if it is in fact Ukikusa, that that mistake is so common. In any case, as I say, I bow to your greater knowledge of Japanese. Languagehat (talk) 22:05, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Humble video request edit

1. Thank you very much for the help displaying the cover image for my turtle video. Someone had told me it was impossible. (Nothing against him, he was trying to help.) I'm glad I asked for more help.

2. Could you see if you can make the video run better? No one can see it with IE (or Safari or Chrome). And it's not about me watching the videos, it's about me wanting to show them to my audience (to have WP have good content...every little blogger or company website or such has well functioning video, but WP does not seem to display well). I can see other videos on WP, so I wonder if it is something about the conversion that was done (I did not do it, had a volunteer do it). Can you please see if you can do the conversion better so that it displays to non Firefox users? I just thought since my other volunteer was wrong about not showing a cover image, maybe he made a mistake on the conversion also (and nothing bad on him, he was trying to help). I got permission for the content and it is up on youtube. Can you see what you can do?

TCO (talk) 00:07, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wow, thank you for your kind words. A user on that same graphics lab did the opposite, belittled my efforts, so I was a bit disappointed. Kind words are nice. About the video, I don't have IE or Chrome, but I do have Safari... so I checked into it and you are right. It just sits there "buffering..." so I tried to upload a reencoded and smaller file to see if that was the problem for those browsers, but no luck. I tried to play some of my own uploaded videos in Safari, and although they kind of played, they didn't really work either. It might be the Wikimedia video player, not the video itself. I will look into it and let you know. Once again, thanks for being kind, Nesnad (talk) 15:14, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

power station image edit

Hi. I'm sorry if you were upset and hope you won't take my view personally. I think this ought to be decided by a collection of people interested in the article, but I reverted your addition because you had added it, so I had to make a choice. As far as copyright goes, I see that as an all or nothing thing. Either we can use an image or we cannot. If we cannot, then we cannot. If we can, then it is a question of merit of the actual image. I do not think that what is wanted is a diagram. Yes, I would love a nice perspective drawing of the plant showing where the important things are and what has happened to them. However, my choice in this case is because there is nothing which can replace a genuine image of the real thing in a sutuation like this. Doesnt matter if it is rubbish quality, it is a capturing of the actual moment this thing happened. Like it says on the fair use tag, you cannot recreate that instant. If you want to address this on the talk page, then I will be happy to state my views there and see what others have to say. Personally, I think the original comparison shot which was first on the page showing the buildings from a longer distance was better, though probably even harder to make out details. Sandpiper (talk) 16:38, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Glider in flight edit

The video is only four seconds long of a distant glider against an uninteresting background. It cannot show much more than a still photo could. I didn't see what it was trying to illustrate, beyond the fact that gliders fly. Perhaps I should have put a question on the talk page and asked for opinions, but I still cannot imagine too many others being in favour. This is still a possibility for you if you still feel aggrieved. There are a huge number of videos which show gliders in flight extremely well but sadly Wikipedia can't be a "link farm". A good example is www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs666zqMw0s Down at the Sea-side. JMcC (talk) 09:33, 10 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

It was hard to get shots from a moving glider, I'll look through my raw videos and see if I can find anything better. Thanks for the feedback, I suppose it is fair. :) Nesnad (talk) 13:28, 10 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
A definite improvement. I had a look at the tutorial on videos to see if there were any recommendations. One point in the tutorial that is worth passing on is that the video should be used to illustrate information in the article. For example this could include launching, landing, a tour of the glider such as controls, control surfaces, instruments, and an engine coming out of the fuselage. I won't do anything to your video but if can improve on it, please do so. JMcC (talk) 20:21, 14 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re your message: As I stated on the talk page, your rendering, which was derived from another editor's rendering, is of such poor quality that I think no illustration is better than that. I've asked for a third opinion on the image inclusion since the article appears to have very few watchers and page views. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:16, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re your message: I requested the deletion on Commons after I removed the image from the article, but before you restored it. Since you restored it, there is a disagreement on content and I therefore asked for a third opinion. I am not attacking you in bad faith as it is my opinion that the image is of poor quality. I'm sorry that you feel that I am attacking you, but I'm not. I think the original image is as just as poor and I would have requested deletion of it too if it were not used on the French Wikipedia. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:28, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with File:Doorwarning-seoulsubway.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Doorwarning-seoulsubway.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 16:01, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Image for lost John Barrymore comedy On the Quiet edit

Hi Nesnad, would you be interested in uploading to the template of On the Quiet, a promo image of the comedy that appeared in the Sausalito News dated May 31 1919. Im not good at template pics to commons but can link them. Since this image is from before 1923 I think it is copyright clear. The Url is below:

http://cdnc.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/cdnc?a=d&d=SN19190531.2.86#

I much enjoy all the template images you and others like Deanlaw and Raconish upload to silent films. Any help you can contribute is much appreciated. ThanksKoplimek (talk) 21:41, 21 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the kind words. The occasional kind words to be found on Wikipedia really give me a smile. I also noticed the others seem to be doing similar work, it's great I guess, huh? I uploaded the one you mentioned, although the source is a little low-resolution. Was there any reason for this film to get your focus? Just curious. Eventually all pages will get my notice! :) Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 03:32, 22 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, usually Barrymore's silent comedies are dismissed by people like his friend and biographer Gene Fowler. Fowler and others and even Barrymore himself liked to emphasize the big costume films he made in the twenties. And also it's kind of hard to find poster or newspaper artwork on his silent Paramount comedies, all made before 1920. Since these films no longer exist, fixing up a wiki article with pictures, posters etc may be as close to seein them as we'll get. The image looks great in place. Thanks much.Koplimek (talk) 15:46, 22 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yahoo and WebCrawler archived versions of lantern slide The Test of Honor edit

Nesnad , much kudos to you on some of the other newspaper adds on John Barrymore lost silent comedies. I don't know where you find them. "The Test of Honor" seems to have no adverts on the web, at least that I can seem to find for the template. To my surprise both Yahoo and WebCrawler have archived versions of the color-tinted lantern slide that was once linked on Wikipedia from the Multimania site which is now off. It may be the only available advert for this lost film. I thought you may be interested.

Yahoo: Yahoo images

WebCrawler: WebCrawler images

If this is a do-able template image, it would make a great promotional as it is better than nothing. All my best.Koplimek (talk) 15:22, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the heads up, and that's great that you found the ghost of that file online... buuut the original file was something like 300 pixels wide... that isn't quite achievable materiel. Using a considerable amount of 'search kungfu' (was a bit of a headache) I was able to secure a 690 pixel image. It is still too compressed and small for my liking, but it helps to preserve this film. (The site I acquired it from was selling the original slide at over US$150! Too pricy for me to get for the article, but that would provide amazing resolution if scanned!) Personally, I think the newspaper clipping with the story summary is a better choice for the infobox, but if you think the colour lantern slide is better, feel free to swap it. I made a category for all related images on Commons: [2] Anyway, thanks again, cheers, Nesnad (talk) 16:52, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ohmygod, drunk Wikipedia-ing is a lopsided idea. I did all that for The Dictator. Oops. Gaaah. Ooops. haha :o) Nesnad (talk) 16:54, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • OK! Now I did it! This time it really, really, took a lot of scouring the net. The only decent slightly high resolution (and still too low resolution for proper archiving I think, sadly) image I could find was a monochrome slide. I used the links you provided to try to match the colours a bit manually, and now the image is on the article! Phew! Regards, Nesnad (talk) 17:28, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Nesdad, I was wondering about what you were saying until I clicked "The Dictator" Commons link. Another movie altogether. The newspaper advert is splendid for it. But good grief no!!!, don't go spending $150 dollars on a slide. I wouldn't want to put you through that kind of trouble. Not having a scanner or anything, I learned something from you today about using two images to color a usable one. Or mutate the resolutions from two slide versions to make an appropriate wiki version if Im slightly correct. Forgive my lack of tech jargon but Wow! I didn't know you could do that. thanks. I didn't know George Eastman House had a slide version of "The Test of Honor" though faded. I'm acquainted with GEH(and the Cleveland Library one), both have incredible collections. However I never went to GEH through their home page, always through a search engine(Google, Yahoo etc) to go straight to their lantern slide section. Somewhere I missed "The Test of Honor" slide being in their collection. Thanks for all your help and great images.Koplimek (talk) 20:20, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch edit

The template image you uploaded seems to be from an Elsie Ferguson film (unnamed). I'm sure that's her in the middle. Since I have Mrs. Wiggs on dvd I'll rewatch for this woman if she's in the film. In the meantime how 'bout this box cover image from Alpha's dvd. "Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch" on Alpha dvd I haven't been able to find a period lobby poster/lithograph for the film. Thanks much!Koplimek (talk) 16:10, 18 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

If I understand correctly, you are saying this image is not a scene from the film? Oh no. Can you confirm that for me please? The original source labeled it as being for this film, and I trusted that boldly and somewhat blindly. Using the DVD box is not good, it would be under copyright. I also had trouble finding a lobby poster from the period of original release. I did find a nice newspaper advert and that will have to do until a poster, lithograph or lantern slide shows up. Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 17:38, 18 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hey Nesnad. I did find this lantern slide (though the newspaper notice is fine). I agree, an image, lantern, lobby poster so long as it is accurately to the film. Cheers.

lantern slide Koplimek (talk) 16:58, 4 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

So is the image of the scene from Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch or not? The lantern slide looks cool, buuuut, it's way too small resolution to use on an article. I think we should be fine with the newspaper advert for now. Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 12:26, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Marking edits as "minor" + Image caption formatting edit

Hi. I have noticed that you frequently mark your edits as "minor" when in fact they are adding new material, such as images, which invariably need reviewing and corrections. I know you have been around on Wikipedia a long time, but it might be a good time to re-read the guidelines at Help:Minor edit, as marking such edits as "minor" is considered poor etiquette. Just to sum up, minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. I hope that clarifies the usage rules. Also, in case you weren't aware, or are not a native English speaker, sentence fragments such as those used in image captions should not normally end in a full stop (period). The relevant guidelines for image captions can be checked at WP:CAPFRAG. Thanks, and keep up the good work in adding images to various station articles. --DAJF (talk) 11:14, 18 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the heads up. I might mark minor too often, but I often think adding an image that can easily be swapped or changed or to an info box of an old movie is boldly minor. I know what I'm doing and I hope I don't annoy you. Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 14:13, 18 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for replying, but as the guidelines state, adding new material such as images is not considered "minor". If in doubt, just leave the "minor" checkbox unselected. There is no penalty for making minor edits and not marking them as such, while doing the opposite is poor etiquette. Also, did you not read the bit in my original comment above about leaving out full stops after sentence fragments in image captions? It may seem a petty point to you, but apart from being part of the manual of style to ensure that we maintain uniformity across Wikipedia, it's also basic English grammar. You may think you know what you are doing, but I would once again ask you to re-read through the guidelines to make sure you are on the same page as other editors. Thanks. --DAJF (talk) 23:02, 18 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Gosh. Your talking down makes me feel like you need to read or reread WP:DICK. (Give it a read, might be a fresh spring breath for you, I suppose? Frasier Crane edit

You seem to be goaling for free content. However, please notify me if you still have issues with certain images. The one you substituted doesn't accurately represent the character. --George Ho (talk) 19:12, 20 November 2015 (UTC

On Wikipedia free content is preferred to copyrighted material. But you clearly are ready to fight to keep the copyrighted one, and I am not interested in fighting for the copyright-free one. Not sure why you don't want it though. Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 05:23, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
The one used in Frasier represents just the cast advocating for savings bond, not characters, even when some real four-pawed portrayer of Eddie the dog has the talk bubble. I watched the video and found it untrue representation to the characters. Look at characters of EastEnders, like Michelle Fowler and Ian Beale. If not enough, look at my captured screenshots in Diane Chambers, Rebecca Howe, and Coach Ernie Pantuso. --George Ho (talk) 07:36, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Look you are wrong. It is the actor on the show stage in the same time frame as the show. It is preferred as free use content, but you have some fetish for the screen captures from the show. Fine. Like I said, don't feel like arguing it. Use your copyrighted content, but you and I know that when a free use alternative is available that should be used on Wikipedia. Cheers, Nesnad (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:10, 21 November 2015‎ (UTC)Reply
Did you actually watch the clip? If you don't feel like arguing, then don't replace the screen capture again. --George Ho (talk) 08:15, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Dang chill out fellow human, I didn't replace it "again". I said, do as you please. Do your copyright violations, whatever. And watching the clip has nothing to do with the face that is shown to the camera. The face that is shown is similar to the face in the show. It's free use. It gets priority on Wikipedia. But you are just gonna fight me on this, so I don't have the energy or desire to go tooth to tooth with you on it. So keep your copyvio, seriously dude, do your thing. Nesnad (talk) 08:21, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
There are already free images of Kelsey Grammer, and I'm using one of them as part of body context, not infobox. Here: Frasier Crane#Development. I'm trying to make it resemble Rachel Green article. --George Ho (talk) 08:43, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear Nesnad, It is an unauthorized photograph of me that I do not want posted on the internet. I do not understand why you continue to post the image, but it violates my rights of privacy and publicity under state law. I'm an intellectual property attorney in addition to a poet and I am very aware of my legal rights. Please do not repost the image. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.71.56.41 (talk) 21:50, 8 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • I didn't know you were editing your own page, which is a conflict of interest; something you shouldn't do. There is NOTHING wrong abut this photo. If you are a lawyer and really believe that, you are a weak one. What problem do you have with the photo? If you keep removing it you might get banned for conflict of interest or something. Nesnad (talk) 02:15, 9 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Nesnad, I think you might not have thought this through from the complainant's perspective.
First, how the hell is an article subject supposed to mystically divine that editing their own article is a COI? The correct response is to point out that Wikipedia discourages people from editing their own articles, and point her to the guidance at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Help or advise her to go to WP:BLPN. Biography subjects with no knowledge of Wikipedia, trying to fix a problem with their article, and being told "COI, GTFO", is just not a good outcome. But I guess you know that, with hindsight, so I won't labour the point.
Second, the correct resolution to this issue IMO is: (1) Remove the picture and discuss on Talk, because the subject expresses a clear preference and we need to respect that. (2) Talk nicely with the subject and coach her on how to release a photo she *does* like. That's a win at every level. (3) Finally, if she does not want to do that, and there is respectful discussion at the talk page, the picture can go back in. But telling the subject of a photo, who states that there is something about it she does not like, that there's NOTHING wrong with it? Can you see how that comes across? Sure, the basis for complaint is specious, but she does not know that.
Show yourself to be the good guy, and you'll have the support of the community all down the line. I have done OTRS work fielding emails from angry, hurt people with Wikipedia articles. Please do take my word for this. It may seem like nothing to you, but to the subject even the most trivial thing can be a huge big deal, because it's WIKIPEDIA< ferchrissakes, and that is kind of huge. Proposed deletion of File:Aikawanase-red-cover-andcd.jpg edit

The file File:Aikawanase-red-cover-andcd.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover art is generally considered acceptable for identification purposes when it is used as the primary means of indentification in a stand-alone article about the album itself, but a much stronger justification for non-free use tends to be required for other articles as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3. The way the file is being used in Nanase Aikawa is decorative: The context required by WP:NFCC#8 is lacking because the cover art itself is not the subject of a sourced commentary and the reader does not need to see it to understand the little written about the album.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:03, 9 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Test of Honor, 1919, Commons edit

Hi Nesnad, thanks for corralling/relocating those images into Commons. Its almost as if the film is viewable again though it is lost. Would this newspaper add for the film from the long defunct The Seattle Star dated April 12, 1919 make a good Commons addition, sort of complimenting the others? It's an add that takes up nearly half the newspaper page which sort of indicates what the paper thought of the film. The Seattle Star advert

Much thanks for your comments on the Akira Kurosawa images. Previously, the FA assessment last year for Kurosawa was stalled because of the image translation issues meaning that an image expert is needed. Given that the images are in reasonably fine condition now, I would ask if you might consider a co-nomination of the article with me for FAC. It's not a case of it needing more references, it needs to have any references - it has none. All the information should be sourced - Japanese WIkipedia is not a reliable source in itself. I ill move it to draftspace and it can be worked on there and moved back when it has reliable, sourced information. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 05:43, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
What the hell. Add the sources if you want them. Why did you move it? I find that unilateral power tripping of users on here to be so annoying. Frustrated, Nesnad (talk) 08:12, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Junko Kawamura moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Junko Kawamura, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Disambiguation link notification for January 8 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Puppy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chihuahua (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:57, 8 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of ZSoft Corporation edit

The article ZSoft Corporation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence this passes GNG/NCOMPANY. Suggest SOFTDELETE by redirecting to its best known product (PC Paintbrush)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Yubimoji edit

Hey @Nesnad:, I am currently going through the Japanese kana pages, and adding a bunch of things like Wabun code (Morse code), Maritime signalling flags, and yubimoji (fingerspelling) for each of the kana. I've noticed that you made a bunch of yubimoji images a long time ago, getting all the way up to the "Y-" set of gojuon but we're still short the last 9 images. Do you still have the equipment to finish off the set, and would that be something you'd be interested in completing, knowing they'd get used? Thanks, VanIsaacWScont 01:51, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for the nudge. Yes, I was just thinking about how I need to finish those. Hope to do it this week! Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 01:58, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Any updates on this? I couldn't find anything in your contributions or uploads at Commons. Thanks. VanIsaacWScont 09:55, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Yikes! Thanks for the push again. It totally slipped my mind. Added a post-it note to get it done this weekend. Will do. Thanks! Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 15:38, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Seoul subway photo edit

Sorry if you have already replied to this question before, but do you remember in which station on the Seoul Subway you took this photo in July 2005: File:Ticketmachine seoul skorea.jpg? It's a station on Line 5 and I was wondering if it's the airport. Lamberhurst (talk) 20:57, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the nudge. I believe it was Gwangnaru Station, if I remember correctly, so I updated the tags on Wikimedia Commons. Cheers, Nesnad (talk) 04:43, 16 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
