Copyright problems with Image:Odaiba015-landscape.jpg edit

An image that you uploaded, Image:Odaiba015-landscape.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Ddxc (talk) 00:15, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The licensing informating on commons:Image:Odaiba015-landscape.jpg and Image:Odaiba015-landscape.jpg disagree. Could you have a look, please? -- Ddxc (talk) 00:16, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't speak Japanese, unfortunately. At least in English or German I wouldn't infer from "free use" or "free to use" that the image is public domain; it might be any free license or even just "you don't have to pay to look at them" ^^. But as I said, I cannot read the Japanese text. -- Ddxc (talk) 06:35, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
(If you think the image is actually non-free, you can just let me know and I'll make sure it gets deleted, if you want me to. -- Ddxc (talk) 06:38, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sounds reasonable; I think they can stay PD-tagged unless/until someone objects. I've re-tagged both of them as PD, and I'll {{ncd}} the image on en soon. -- Ddxc (talk) 17:40, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Swucampus-pic2.gif edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Swucampus-pic2.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:44, 11 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 02:44, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

(replying to message on my talk page) - If you want, you could contact the copyright holder and request that they release the pictures under a free license. WP:COPYREQ has instructions on how to do this. But if someone takes some higher-quality pictures and donates them to us, that might be even better. —Remember the dot (talk) 05:01, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

(replying to message on my talk page) - I don't know. But if that is correct, then the image was improperly tagged and the description should be corrected. Do as you see fit. —Remember the dot (talk) 19:22, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Eintopf edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Eintopf, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Transwiki:Cookbook:Eintopf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 07:08, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dontokosuojisan-logo-japan.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Dontokosuojisan-logo-japan.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:55, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Logo-kugs893fm-bellinghamwa.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading Image:Logo-kugs893fm-bellinghamwa.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:49, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
