Image source problem with Image:Caribbean Reef Shark.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Caribbean Reef Shark.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:42, 23 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 17:42, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Dicle crocodile edit

A tag has been placed on Dicle crocodile, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. BigDuncTalk 19:10, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

June 2008 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Fin Whale has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Loligo vulgaris, Mersin.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Loligo vulgaris, Mersin.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I have seen the pictures mentioned above and they are not taken in Mediterranean Sea according to [1] which you claim to be the source. Why did you name them like that? and because of this descripancy I wonder if you have the right to upload the pictures. If you are the photographer, please update the source site to state that they where taken in the Mediterranean Sea. --Stefan talk 00:20, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problems edit

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:Tiger shark in Mediterranean Sea, Antalya Kaş.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.ryanphotographic.com/images/JPEGS/Galeocerdo%20cuvier%20Tiger%20shark%20three%20quarters%20copy.jpg. As a copyright violation, Image:Tiger shark in Mediterranean Sea, Antalya Kaş.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:Tiger shark in Mediterranean Sea, Antalya Kaş.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at [[Talk:Image:Tiger shark in Mediterranean Sea, Antalya Kaş.jpg]] and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.

  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on [[Talk:Image:Tiger shark in Mediterranean Sea, Antalya Kaş.jpg]].

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. --Stefan talk 09:11, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Image:Shark.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on Image:Shark.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [2], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Shark.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. --Stefan talk 06:30, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add this picture at the shark pagen anymore, it is copyrighted and should not be on wikipedia at all. I reverted your edit again. --Stefan talk 02:38, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image permission problem with Image:Burdur Gölünde endemik rastlanır.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Burdur Gölünde endemik rastlanır.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 18:11, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Public Transprot in Istanbul and IETT edit

Hi Nemera. I see that you have moved the article Public transport in Istanbul to İETT. The company İETT is a subset of the more comprehensive theme. Because the original article consists also information about ferries and urban trains. Therefore, the move (redirection) is not wise. I would ask you to review it and restore the move. Thanks and cheers. CeeGee (talk) 15:02, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. It seems that my complain was not clear enough. The article is about "Transport in Istanbul", which comprises "IETT", IDO, TCDD etc. Therefore, the article "İETT" should redirect maybe to "Transport in Istanbul" and not the "Transport in Istanbul" to "İETT". GTA: San Andreas picture edit

Unless you want to be ctied for 3RR, please heed Y2kcrazyjoker4's advice and just stop insisting on your watermarked picture. Thank you.--Eaglestorm (talk) 05:31, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

And for future reference, don't remove the templates I placed on the image pages. Your uploaded images have watermarks and no fair use rationales, which on their own are enough reason to have the image speedy deleted. This behavior just shows a complete refusal to adhere to the rules. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 05:43, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Uploading images edit

It would appear that problems with your uploaded images have been highlighted to you on a number of occasions but you don't seem to have taken the time to understand these problems before uploading further images. I've just looked through your uploads and have deleted all of them for a variety of reasons. I must ask that you familiarise yourself with Wikipedia:Image policy before uploading any more images. If you fail to do so and upload further copyright violations then you risk being blocked. Adambro (talk) 13:34, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Makbule Burhan.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Makbule Burhan.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 20:03, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:FIFA 2009 screenshot Ronaldinho Galatasaray FC.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:FIFA 2009 screenshot Ronaldinho Galatasaray FC.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:07, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:FSXPMDGMD11.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:FSXPMDGMD11.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
